Has anyone time traveled just to get their wanted villagers?

my first taste of success was rolling Marhal via campsite. Since then, I've be,en cycling & island hopping and got Raymond, Judy, Dom (random campsite, I wasn't planning on having him lol), Diana, and Ruby. Just looking for Sherb now... I didn't even want judy or dom rip

i had a lot of amiibo that i used but now but i've committed to not TTing so now i'm sitting around waiting for 2 of my 10 villagers to ping to move when i should have went for the ones i didn't have in amiibo first lmao

I got most of mine here pretty easily, as long as you look hard enough you'll find them cheap

i see. because i've been reading this guide about that 'campsite trick' and it involves time traveling and skipping a week (for better chances of camper), and that could go on for months if you didn't see the villager you like

you got lucky then, because if it's just a month, you're like able to find the villager you wanted for like the 4-5th camper?

Nope, I go back after the end of the month to my starting date. So for example May 1 to May 31. May 1 skip 6 days then day by day to get camper. When I reach May 31 and haven’t found the one I’m looking for I’ll go back to May 1. Rinse then repeat.
