I've only used it once but the seller was really nice, I adopted a villager from her for a fair price and the trade was pleasant and quick, she even gifted me fruits. I find it easier to look for villagers there.
All of my trades so far have been good. I will say people make things waaaaayyy overpriced on nookazon. Like why do I have to pay over 15+ nmt for you to make a item that you can make millions of. Makes no sense
i've had some really good transactions, to be honest! a lot of people have gone above and beyond and tried to give me more than we agreed upon, or were just really sweet individuals!
i’ve sold a few things on there with no issue, but i don’t think i’d do any high value trades on there. even with a rating system it seems a lot easier to just make a new account to skirt by bad ratings. on tbt because this forum is also for discussion i feel like being able to see what kind of person you’ll be trading with before you go ahead. it feels more secure here, but the ui of nookazon is a lot faster if you’re looking to unload items quickly.
all of my transactions have gone smoothly. mostly i just use it to sell and giveaway items. often times people will give me tips if i list an item for less than it usually sells for.
buying is a little more frustrating than selling though in that some sellers take a while to get back to you. but haven't had any negative interactions.
i've done larger transactions too. biggest one being selling a bunch of items to someone for 40NMT
I've used it a few times. It is okay, but I wish it had its own website chat service. Discord is great and all, but you can't see if they are online on Discord just the website.
In the beginning, I always found optimal prices and made a bunch of really good deals. Now, it seems like prices are getting higher and higher, even though you can still find some decent prices. Apart from prices, that website is useful when you need something and don't want to wait too long for having it. Every trade has been pretty fast in my experience.
I've been using Nookazon and the Discord for a while.
I've had a few bad apples (Being ghosted, poor communication), but out of my several dozens of trades, I'd say that's really good.
I just started trading on here and surprisingly had more poor experiences on here than both Nookazon and Discord combined.
I will say I like the forum trading more since I'm more familiar with it from my many years on other sites.
I think my only problem with Discord is I'm always skeptical since there is no rating system and I'm always on guard, but 9 times out of 10, it turns out swimmingly.
I came from Nookazon before finding this forum (and haven't done any trades here yet, but plan to). I've had mostly positive experiences, but have learned to watch out for red flags.
I had a bunch of free crafting listings there once and a player I crafted a bunch of things for thought I was "so nice," ended up harassing me to friend them on my Switch, then add them as Best Friend, and then kept messaging AND calling me on Discord (that's when I learned you can call on Discord) to remind me they're still waiting to be a Best Friend. It made me go permanently offline on Discord because of this experience, and it's also why I'm out here looking to deal with people elsewhere. I'm still getting messages from this person. At the same time, I'm afraid to block them because I don't want to get a retaliatory negative review for it. I wish the site would let people rate only after verified completed transactions and NOT let them change them after.
On the other hand, the site itself without the use of Discord works great. Once I accept an offer, I put in a Dodo code and the buyer arrives minutes after. It's a pretty good system for quick trades. Once I mark myself "offline," it takes my listings down too so I don't get offers when I'm not active. I'm no longer advertising free crafting sessions there though. That's usually when I end up with weird encounters.
It depends if you could spot any good prices for items. Perhaps the best I had was someone was willing to trade me a whirlpool bath for an ironwood table and he didn’t ask for anything else. Felt bad so I threw in 99k as well since that whirlpool bath costs a lot. Though being able to find good prices is heavily dependent on your timing. I haven’t had any luck since then.
If they had their own dm system on their website, I might use it. I really hate discord and avoid it like the plague.
I only trade on this site, because the people on here are so nice. I have never had a bad trade on this website.
It took me way too long to understand it (felt really old ) but I think it's ok!
Prices might be over the top but I try and only look/post listings in exchange for wishlist items which is my preferred way of doing it so I don't really see "actual prices".
I've had around 5 trades there and it all went very fast and very smoothly!
As with trading on any big traffic kind of website/discord/channel I'd advise caution with big trades or when some things sounds too good to be true, but so far the experience is positive for me.
I've never had any problems using Nookazon. Most of the interactions I've had are quick and friendly, not quite as OOT sweet as here but still plenty friendly. Using the Discord is helpful too, I can chat to people and put items on hold for them, etc. I've sold more over Nookazon than I have sold on here.
On the other hand, I have also heard nightmarish stories about scammers and stuff from Nookazon. I think it's really a very mixed bag.
Defiantly be careful using Nookazon! I'm in the Flagged Names for Animal Crossing Facebook group, and Nookazon comes up quite a bit! Make sure you pay attention to the reviews. The reviews are King. That being said, I've both been the buyer and seller in transactions. And I've been very successful so far! I haven't had a negative incident yet, but if you're in a position where you're being scammed: put the switch to sleep with the power button!
I've been using the site for a little over a month now and I have yet to be scammed which is good.
I do believe some people do over charge on there for items.
But you can sell your items fairly quickly on there I haven't ran into a rude person yet.
But I have into people I have messaged and they take to long to message so I end up messaging someone else.
I just people who traded with you would leave more reviews I had plenty of transactions but only like seven reviews to show for it.
Nookazon is okay, but it's very difficult when you're wanting to buy a villager. A popular one at that. Say someone offers Raymond for 400 NMT's, and you offer the asking price, but someone else offers 1000 tickets. The seller seems to always take more than what they originally asked for. I say that they should fix it to where you can't offer more than the listed price.
