has anyone else had this move in glitch?

apologies if this has been posted about, i couldn't find any threads on it or anything from searching on google

i just went to someone's town to adopt octavian, and he said he'd move in to my town tomorrow. i had a plot available before leaving, and it did say "plot available." but now, after i returned to my island, it says it's reserved for paolo, not octavian. i told the person i adopted octavian from, and she said that paolo was the villager she'd moved out just before octavian, but paolo was adopted by someone and is currently on their island.

this might just be a weird text error, but i'm too nervous about time travel to skip to tomorrow to check if i got the right villager. so i figured i'd ask here if anyone knows anything about this bug, since i couldn't find anything when searching online.

that seems likely, except that paolo (the other villager) shouldn't be in her void, as he's currently on someone's island...but of course that could be another piece of the glitch

It’s because Paolo lived at that plot before Octavian did.

update: paolo did end up moving in according to isabelle, but then he moved right back out. i have seen this glitch talked about, but not specifically with a villager that wasn't supposed to move in in the first place.

i feel bad for the person who tried to give me octavian...i wish i'd been more careful and waited until i was sure there'd be no bugs in the way...

This is all a bit scary to be honest.
I had someone hold Mac for me but now I wonder if I should just back out as I'd hate for my game to glitch this way.

I also see so many people actively trading villagers over on the New Neighbor Network - are only a select few experiencing glitches?
Are the glitches predetermined by anything specific like amiibo card villagers or are they also just randomly happening now?

my plot isn't empty, the house has a sign that says "i've moved out." sorry for not being clear

I haven't quite had the plot glitch (at least not in the same way others have) but I did have an open plot which Fauna moved into uninvited. The same day she moved in she moved out and now her house is permanently stuck there, it just says "I've moved out" when you knock on the door. It's been there over a week and the recent patches don't give me any ability to get rid of it. The only thing I have left to try is to get 10 villagers and attempt to force it out with an Amibo move-in, which I'm working on but I can't find any info on if it'll work or not so who knows. I almost wish they'd delayed the game again because these game-breaking bugs are killing the experience for me.
