Has anyone done a dig-site area on their island? ...Do you have pictures? Or a DA?

So... yah. I'm curious. I currently have a mini digsite by my museum but I'm considering expanding it- I might put in on the little scrap of land where Vic's house currently is (considering moving him out, I love him but I've had him for quite awhile- but you bet I'd be doing a bon voyage photoshoot before I let him sail for distant shores!) and then expanding it to where I have a little cliff behind it (I don't really use the cliff for anything and could easily make it smaller). Honestly, the more I talk about it, the more excited I get!

Basically, my idea is to make a little area with dirt and rocks (I wanna move some rocks) and a dino-skeleton (I have a QR code for a cool one I use in my mini digsite) and, like, a little area to clean and examine fossils. It'd be super close to my museum, so that'd be nice. Also, Tucker's house would be placed there because... well. I guess he will have been dug up from there

SO. Has anyone done something like this and do you have pics or a dream I could visit? I haven't done any major island renovations in awhile, so I need some inspiration!

BTW, here's an old pic of my mini digsite-

It's now more decorated and has a rock and a better fitting DIY bench (I like to scatter them around my island for convenience AND decoration), but basically I'd be expanding on it with the area you can glimpse behind it (Dobie lived there in this pic, Vic lives there now).

Huh... it hadn't occurred to me to layer in a fossil like that, I wonder if I could make that work
(also, I hope no one's offended by me taking inspiration and maybe some ideas from them )

I haven't made one, but I plan on doing it when I get around to moving my museum out of its temporary beach home. I like the idea of digging down a level, and there are some fossils that are small and might look nice under an examination light, like that metal lamp with the bend in it... floorlamp it might be called. For example the dinosaur footprint!

I don't have Tucker because he doesn't suit my island theme but I did think about getting him a while ago because he is dead cute. The idea I had for him was for his house to be in a tar pit made using custom textures, with a mammoth skull or entire fossil in the tar!

Ooh, I like that lamp idea! I currently have a fossil (just a random fossil "dropped" as opposed to place) on display on the examination table thing in my mini digsite, so that'd be neat!

And I love the tar idea, too IDK if I could do it since I have little to no room left for custom designs, but that's cute.
And I just love Tucker- he's such a handsome fellow with his big tusks and general fluffiness! I gave him an explorer shirt and hat and he's totally precious whenever he wears them~

Sadly, he almost never wears it together, but the individual pieces are cute, too! I don't think villagers recognize matching clothing sets, but Stitches did seem to wear his Handmade Cape and Handmade Crown together a lot (and it was PRECIOUS)

A DA is great! I'd love a chance to actually run around the area to get a full picture, lol. I'll definitely check it out!

There's not much more to it than what you can see in @Pyoopi 's screenshot (except that I buried all my daily fossils around there to stop them from spawning elsewhere). I should really work on it some more, but you can go look if you want. You'll find it around the very top right of my island.

When I first got this idea I tried multiple fossils, the ankylo torso was just about the only one that wasn't much taller than a single cliff. But it works pretty nicely. Feel free to take inspiration from it, I won't mind at all ^^

I have one, it's on my beach but it's not very elaborate yet. I've dropped down some duplicate fossils, buried some to get the X mark in the sand, and I put the Ophtalmo dinosaur on my rock to make it look like it's coming out of the ocean, as if it had been discovered there. I've also put an outdoors table with a homework set and microscope next to it to make it look like research is being done on-site, with a simple panel and books custom code on it just behind said table. I'm looking for more items to expand on the theme but it's not a very big area.
