Sometimes I will just get a demo to play while waiting for a game I want to come out like Pokemon or Kingdom Hearts, but other times I like to pick random demos from the eshop to see what the games are like. I like to try ones I am considering buying to get an idea of the game play. For example, I tried the Bravely Default demo because I thought the characters looked cool, but I didn't really like the battle system when I tried it. I still have the demo though because my brother bought the game and I can give him a random street pass with it.

Another game I was unsure about was Rhythm Thief. I read an article about it and it sounded interesting so I tried the demo. The rhythm games were pretty fun and now it is one of my favorite 3ds titles, but I probably wouldn't have tried it without the demo.

Has a demo ever helped you find a new game to enjoy?

Actually quite the opposite for me, the Bravely Default demo convinced me to get the game :) I thought it was very enjoyable and it also gave me the option to transfer data to the full game which is what more demo's should offer (this was about 6 months ago btw), but that was probably the only eshop demo that convinced me to buy the full game.

Oh I do like the demos that let you transfer stuff to the full version. It's like a fun little bonus for trying it out. :)

Not really. Typically if I play a demo, it's for a game that I was already planning to buy. Like in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire's case, I was already planning to buy it even before the demo was announced and released

Unfortunately , yes! I thought the Tomodachi Life demo was great and bought the game. I had thought the demo was just a little taste of the game but that's all there really was to the game. I traded it in at Gamestop.

I had read about Bravely Default and downloaded the demo. Only to find that the game simply wasn't for me. So instead I downloaded another demo I had seen in the eShop and this time it was Fire Emblem: Awakening. I absolutely loved the demo and ordered the game the next day. I also bought Virtue's Last Reward some time after having played the demo. :)

The demo for Tomodachi Life confirmed what I had already thought; not my kind of game. I'm still glad I could try it, though. :)

My brother had tried out the Fire emblem awakening demo and we both loved it. We ended up getting the game the week it was released.

Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl actually convinced me to get Etrian Odyssey Untold and Etrian Odyssey IV xD

Right, I had forgotten about that. I didn't like the demo so didn't buy the game. It was interesting, though. Just not for me. :)

Oh, and I just remembered I also bought Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies after having played the demo. :)

I wouldn't say so.
I only ever download demos for games that I've pretty much already decided I am going to buy, either for a quick tease of what I'm going to be buying or to see if it plays as good as other sources made me think it would. It's really just there to fill the time between me deciding I'm going to get a game and me actually buying it, because I don't think a demo has ever changed my decision.

The ONLY time I've played a demo and THEN bought the game was Tombai for the PS1. I had the demo of it when I was younger and loved it but could never find the real thing in stores. I ended up buying it on PSN a few years ago when I found out it was there.

Yes, of course. It's almost like a TV show. Let's say that there's a new TV show and they show you the pilot and It's the most boring thing you've watched. Would you watch the following episodes? Of course not. Let's say you play a demo and that's boring, too. I wouldn't spend money on a game that I didn't even think was remotely fun.

The beginnings are always the most important.

I tried the final fantasy rhythm game thinking it would be like the old DS game, Elite beat agents...
unfortunately, the controls are really weird for me so i decided not to buy it

I originally wasn't planning on buying Smash Bros for the 3DS because I knew I wouldn't play it unless I had other friends playing it too. But then came the time when the special unlimited use demo was going around so I bought a code from the Marketplace here and decided to try it out. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it and I reserved a physical copy at Gamestop a few days later. c:

Tomo Life, KH;DDD, and soon Chibi-Robo (going to buy soon). However, I really don't like Tomodachi all that much anymore o be honest.

I always download a lot of demos because I can rarely afford to buy any games so I usually just play them for fun, but the FE: Awakening and Dual Destinies demos both made me want the full games.

I tried the Nintendogs + cats demo, I loved it! I then bought the game a few days later. :)
...to only get it stolen the next day. :(

Really, the only demo I've played that made me want to own the game was the original LittleBigPlanet back in like 2010.

the demo for pokemon convinced me that i'll be buying it haha. i love ladders.
bravely default convinced me not to buy it but that's okay. it's more appealing just looking at the style rather than the actual gameplay.
there was also a rhythm game a while back that was super fun and cute. i was going to buy it but i can't remember the name and can't really find it just browsing through the shop. $8 never spent :c
there was also that vocaloid game on the ps3. i dont remember the name of that either but the demo was pretty fun. probably wouldn't spend the money on it, but if i got it as a gift of sorts i would play it.

Haha yes I remember I was bored so i just downloaded all the demos and I really like HarmoKnight and I ended up buying it
