Natsume just published Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, a GBA game on Wii U's Virtual Console. Did you guys buy it ? Are some of you playing it ? I'm wondering if I should get it.

I would LOVE to play Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town as it was my favourite game on the Game Boy Advance and all, but I think it is just available in America right now...

Natsume does have the publishing rights to that title in North America. I don't know about Europe, but I don't think they do in Japan, though.

This is great I've been wanting this game for a long time (I started with Harvest Moon DS so I narrowly missed out on this great title!). It'll save me from trying to buy the physical game and having to break out my old DS to play.

I have recently purchased myself a very good conditioned UK PAL copy of Harvest Moon: Back to Nature for the Sony PlayStation One.
I have heard that it is very similar to Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town.

This game should tide me over until the hopeful release of Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town on the Nintendo Wii U UK eShop.

WHAT!!

Oh, I see. It's not a remake into 3D, it's just a re-release. I don't think I'm going to get it. Part of why I loved Friends of Mineral Town as much as I did was because it was portable, and I could play it anywhere at any time. The WiiU has some portability thanks to the game pad, but it doesn't even make it into another room. I can play while my husband watches TV but I don't think it's really worth buying again.

I am playing this on my Nintendo Gamecube right now using the Nintendo Gamecube Game Boy Player.

I loved that thing, it was so cool to me when it came out.

I loooooved Friends of Mineral Town and have More Friends of Mineral Town, but I don't see this as a game I would get on my Wii U. I still have the GBA games and a fine working GBA so if I really want to play it again, I'll just use what I already have.

I've only ever played MFoMT out of the two GBA titles, so I'd love to play FoMT. When I get a computer I'm going to download the True Love edition, though, but I'll probably buy FoMT on the Virtual Console so I don't feel as bad about getting the ROM.

Either way, if you're a fan of Harvest Moon, I'd definitely recommend M/FoMT. MFoMT is probably my favorite Harvest Moon game, and FoMT is essentially the same except that you play as a boy. Also, $6.99 isn't bad, considering most cartridges on eBay go for at least $15 and usually about $20.

Looking through my collection of Game Boy Advance games, I apparently have the following games...

Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town (PAL)
Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town (NTSC)
Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town

I bought this and am loving it so far! It feels fairly weird playing it on the Wii U- but hey- a game is a game.

I'm moving pretty slowly but am still excited to learn more about the game this go around.

The only other Harvest Moon game I had ever played beforehand was Harvest Moon: the Tale of Two Towns that was developed for the Nintendo DS/3DS. I still like better that game to Friends of Mineral Town mostly because the mining mechanic is quite annoying (hidden floor exits) and it takes such an importance in the GBA game that you cannot avoid it. Tale of Two Towns also had a system of vegetable and fruit rating that would affect how good your recipes were. This mechanic is totally absent in Friends of Mineral Town. But I still enjoy this game, I wish I could buy Tales of Two Towns for the Virtual Console though.

The Tale of Two Towns is too new for Virtual console, but you can actually buy the 3DS version on the eshop (and it doesn't have the glitches the physical 3DS version has). ^.^ I know this cause I bought TTOTT for about only $20 off the eshop a couple months ago. ^.^

Yes. I had it once but sold my 3DS.

Well it seems Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town will soon see the day on the Wii U.

OMG... Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town has not even come to Europe yet...
I wish that I was an American now as Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town is my favourite game...
oh wait... I don't... I particularly enjoy not having to deal with the crap of Store Exclusive amiibo.

I do not have a Wii U at the given moment, but I would definitely buy it if it came out on the 3DS VC (I still don't get why Nintendo is so hesitant about releasing GBA games on the 3DS VC; there's definitely tons money that could be made by releasing them). Hopefully with the new 3DS being released, Nintendo may finally release GBA VC classics on the 3DS.
