Alright, dumb question (because I'm pretty sure I know the answer) but
do spiny lobsters count for the ingredient? I've caught like 6 of the spiny ones over the past few days, but only one of the normal ones.
I'm guessing not, but it's an excuse to bump. :p

I don't think they do, but you can always sell them after the event.

Bump~
The festival event will take place this Thursday. If you haven't already, gather some of the items you might need during the festival to make the event a bit easier. A list of items can be found in the spoiler at the beginning of this thread.

Also, save some of your Skinny and Flat mushrooms. You might need 4 of each.

Concerning ingredients I mentioned in my previous spoiler:
I've got all the lobsters I need from diving at the island. I forgot they are considerably more common there than your home beach, at least at this time of year. I would get the clams and oysters at home though, I'm not even sure they show up at the island. I know scallops do, but for some reason they also seemed more plentiful at home too.

Also, tip for the fruit: if you don't want to waste space in your home or closet, you can store them at your beach. If you want perfect town rating, remember to set them down individually, not in baskets. When they're in baskets they count as furniture, I suppose.

Man, it's going to be hard for me to do Harvest Festival. It's a school day, and then I'll have people over after school for my birthday. Man. Hello, TTing!

But I have a museum room full of stuff I need for the festival (according to thonky)

I finally got everything collected, lobster was the last. But then google told me that lobsters are common on the island so I went there and got one. I'm having family at my house for TG too so I'll either do the harvest festival that night(doubtful) or more likely the next day.

I posted earlier and Thonky does have a good guide of needed fish. One thing that might throw you off is each villager that is cooking will ask for some other ingredient like carp or crucian carp. As expected, they just happened to be HTF on that day. Gather up extra fish for the villager's needs in order to get special ingredients. Some fish I had to get were not on the guide.

Only found 1 scallop so far..... Diving would be a lot easier if they would have removed the orange line that fish use as an escape.

I just got the chance to find out what a harvest festival is . Now sad because I friggen sold all my murshroom

Ouch.. well, better than the day before, right? If you pick them everyday until Thursday, you should have enough, the ones you need are common.

I'm really glad Nintendo thought ahead and made the festival go for so long (6am until 10pm.) That way if you prepare you can do it before or after any RL festivities. Luckily my extended family has dinner at noon. Kinda have to, since there's over 30 people (and growing)..

Thank you for mentioning the time. I havew a long schoolday thursday, so it is great its going on til late at night!

Maybe this is a good way for me to get appletrees for in my town.... since I can`t travel to other towns outside the dreamtravel option. :)

3 days to go til my birfday 'til the festival!

Villagers will still celebrate my birthday, right? I'll only be on at like 7 in the morning, 4 in the afternoon and like 9 at night :3
But, anyway, looking forward to the festival :D

This is a sad admission on my part, but I'm rather afraid of the Festival. I backed my day back to the 15th. I have this paranoia about not doing things right and failing to obtain the special items.

I do have depression/anxiety disorders, but this is ridiculous. I was even afraid of Halloween and was glad that one of my other towns was set to June (the release date) so I wouldn't stress.

Even tho it turned out that Halloween went all right, I'm still nervous about all this ingredient finding and stuff. Heh...well, I can't put it off forever!

Thx alot for the heads up! Still got few items cant get, hopefully on that day they will all be in abundance :)

It's a game for ages 3 and up. Surely the events aren't impossibly difficult. :)
The game gains nothing from letting you fail at events.

I'm with Ankhes on this. Halloween was a disaster for me. Trying to learn and remember all the tricks to get certain items didn't help me any. Game doesn't matter but only getting one chance to get stuff does, at least to me. I've been through Harvest Festival which isn't too bad, but Toy Day had me petrified. How could I possibly see the look on a villager's face when they got the wrong present?

Yeah, I panic.

Happy almost Birthday

You won't be forgotten. Did you get your birthday song Saturday? I think that's when you get it. Hope you like the food being prepared for your day.

I'm so glad it isn't just me! (((HUG))) to you, Blizzard. It IS scary and yes, the only one chance thing is very unnerving, to say the least. I'm middle-aged, but when one of my nephews was 5 he was better than me when I tried my first console game, "Maximo." Now that he's 11 he still saves my butt sometimes, but now I'm in a different state and he can't help me out with this if I screw up! LOL

Well, Blizzard, I guess we'll both just have to dive in to Events when we're ready and do our best. :)

For what it's worth, you have my full moral support for the next event. If we blow it we can commiserate together, eh? :) I set my game a few days back, so I think I'll be doing the Festival this next weekend. (Yeah...I'm still a bit of a chicken)
