Do you know anyone who fought and died?

Both of my grandpas. They both died of war reasons. The fought in WWII. ONe died before he could even meet me. My dad said he was a great man. He died even before my dad got married. Then my other grandpa died about a week after I was born or shortly after. He got to hold me, though. I don't remember him, however. :'(

I'll begin my active duty in the Navy this October. I knew a good friend from the war in Iraq. He died from a car bomb near 2005. I'm extremely proud of him, and miss him terribly.

Actually, Jeremy:

Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May (May 31 in 2010). Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. soldiers who died while in the military service. First enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War (it is celebrated near the day of reunification after the Civil War), it was expanded after World War I to honor dead Americans from all wars.

Unless you mean the original post, which was worded oddly, I would agree.

But... you're... you're younger than I am. I don't know, this is just the first time I've heard of someone younger than I am joining the military.

My grandpa was in the navy, and my great-grandma did something with the planes in WWI or II. She died, but not from war reasons.
