Hacked towns - Do they effect visitors via Dream Suite?

Heya everyone

A few weeks ago for the first time ever, I used the Dream Suite to visit someone elses town which was a hacked town. I won't name the town, but I visited this vibrant town for some inspiration on dirt paths and just landscaping in general. This is the only town I have ever visited.

For a while now (not sure if since visiting the said hacked town), I haven't been able to find any new fossils. I have found 61 out of 67. For weeks, I haven't found a single new fossil. I don't know if it's just terrible luck or if visiting that town may have had something to do with it.

My town is not hacked, no plans to hack it either.

My question: Does visiting hacked towns effect the visitors game in any way? If so, does it effect physical or digital copies, or both?

nope! it has absolutely no effect on the visitors game unless they were to visit you and do some things.

You're completely fine if you visit hacked towns unless under very specific circumstances (e.g. if they have a tpc photo booth hacked in and you use it, but a town with one of those is basically impossible to encounter). The last fossils are always hard to find so it's definitely just luck! I'm not sure if visits to Katrina/feng shui could resolve that issue as I don't know if it works with fossils, but I wish you the best of luck.

I just got back, and wanted to thank you both for your answers on this. It's a relief knowing that visiting a hacked town has nothing to do with my collectables.

I just have bad luck atm I guess with finding the rest of the fossils.
