Gyroids

I've recently discovered that gyroids aren't in NH. To state it bluntly, I'm very disappointed. I've loved them for a long time as they have their own values to me.

Not only that, but gyroids have been in every single Animal Crossing game in one way or another. I'm surprised that they were removed despite their subtle annoyances.

I want to hear your thoughts.

I personally miss them! I didn't use them often but whenever it was a rainy day I'd get excited for the next day since that's when they spawned. I'm hoping they come back in an update in the future!! Ideas about a gyroid exhibit in the museum would make me really wanna actually start collecting them, since they just sat in my storage because I didn't have anywhere to put them in my home.

I always liked gyroids so I'm sad to see them gone. Perhaps they can be added later though? I hope they return, since I have this personal tradition of always putting a mega dekkoid somewhere in my town (it was the first gyroid I ever found in Gamecube) and would love to do it here.

I really miss them! they’ve always been a really fun and unique part of the game, and it would have been rlly fun to play around with them now that we can place furniture outside too.

I miss them! It was fun to collect all the different types. I'm hoping they'll add them back and maybe make a gyroid display in the museum? I think that would be fun almost like collecting fossils again but this time gyroids! Could have it be through Blathers or a new NPC or an old one with a new job (perhaps Digby (his name does have dig in it aha) and Isabelle gets him the position)

I miss them so much man!! I heard rumors about a gyroid section in the museum and that got me hyped, but when I found out they were removed I was so bummed. Also, peppy (i think?) villagers can mention the island being an ancient burial ground for dinosaurs, but I mean that line could still be used for gyroids since they're based on haniwa. (though, that might be screwed up. I suppose the gyroids are screwed up in their existence though, then.. yikes)

i miss them so much! i never really knew what to do with them - i would put 1-3 in my house for decoration in wild world and i had a whole gyroid museum exhibit in new leaf, but i dug them up and loved them anyways! i hope they make some sort of return.

I'm mixed, I hated digging up gyroids when they could have been perfectly good fossils, but at the same time they're iconic and I did use a few in my home.

Gyroids have never displaced fossil spawns, they spawn in addition to fossils. I am 95% confident that they do not alter the 4 fossils a day count.

I miss them too and hope they return in an update.

Love gyroids and i will be very disappointed if they dont appear in the future. I loved filling the house with them and if they do appear i will have an island full

Hopefully in the next update they appear as they arent in the official guide.

I wasn't really a fan of them in New Leaf. They made annoying sounds, and all I did was sell them.

The things gyroids are based off is just outright disturbing to me. You're literally digging up Haniwa figures. You're digging up graves. That is messed up.

I'm wholly indifferent to the lack of gyroids. But, I do think they are a key element of the franchise, and probably should return in a patch...or even paid DLC. Maybe they want to do gyroids in a big way and introduce even more of them. Something about the gyroid situation reminds me of Pokemon Sword and Shield with the way the dex is rolling out. This might simply be Nintendo's process now.

I remember visiting in Japan to learn that gyroids reassembled/or based on native grave placements. So I see why they took them out of the game.
