OHNO A REPUBLICAN SITE! asdfghjkl;'
Chill. Just one of the articles I found on the issue.
This is becoming a slightly big issue for me, considering my dad and I have made a hobby of going down to the shooting range together. I'm against "gun control". Take away guns and you take away 1) our second amendment right 2) a way for civilians to protect ourselves. Now, you can't justify it by saying "OH! BUT IT'LL STOP THE BAD GUYS FROM GETTING GUNS AND WE'LL ALL BE SAFE IN OUR LITTLE HAPPY SOCIETY!" No. That's wrong. They outlawed certain drugs, but guess what? People are still getting them. If someone like that wants something bad enough, they'll get it off the black market. I can't see any good come form this law.

Although, I myself have no interest in owning a gun, we do have the right. And, like Bacon Boy said, it won't stop people from getting guns. I think that if we do get rid of guns, the people who do have them will be all the more dangerous and unregulated.

My father, sister, and grandpa all hunt. With guns. Although, I'm not too interested in it I still enjoy going out and shooting every once in a while. I don't think guns hould be taken away for the reasons stated above by Bacon Boy.

Also, this video is about gun control and why we don't need it. You should probably watch it.

Personally I think we have a right to have guns, but I think hunting should be illegal. I don't think it does anything for us...

'Cept, you know, give some people food. If it came down to it, I'd rather eat the animal than let myself starve.

Right. Err, forgot about that...tonight really hasn't been my night.

Anyway, maybe just put restrictions on it? Only be able to hunt if you need to? Or am I just putting my foot in my mouth again...

Well that have hunting seasons, too. So they have restrictions. It still doesn't stop idiots from hunting on those seasons, though.

It's always been a double edged sword.
Guns give criminals more access to commiting crimes, but it also give innocents a way to defend themselves. I've never really had a strong opinion about it, but if someone breaks in my house i'd like to have something to shoot them in the leg with.

In my own opinion gun control in America isn't such an issue considering as it is you do need a permit to own a weapon as well as fire it. Most of the people that do have guns acquired them illegally, therefore gun control wouldn't change much of anything considering that quite a few of the weapons already owned aren't exactly legal.

I don't think they're needed so much for close-quarters cities, but out in the country they're entirely more useful, especially considering protection from local wildlife that may pose a threat. At the same time, a lot of americans need guns where they live to 'feel' safe, but just because they have them doesn't mean that they use them. Most people that legally own a gun won't ever use it, considering the first thing they train you to obtain a permit is "if you shoot, you shoot to kill." Many human beings can't handle that.

Where I live, many people own firearms, legally and illegally. It's a rough town, and quite a few people have been shot and stabbed. For safety reasons, a lot of people in this area consider knives or other small weapons to protect themselves. Personally I carry a hunting blade and mace with me wherever I go, but if push came to shove, I don't even know if I'd be able to use either of them.
