Eating meat or dairy product doesn't make someone an abuser. The ability to go vegan is often very expensive, very emotionally draining, and is often something that only people with a lot of privileges and resources can do. I'm currently a vegetarian, but back when I had a lot less money, meat was a very cheap resource for protein. There are some people who really cannot cut meat and dairy out because of health reasons. Animal rights is very important, but I think we should focus more on making the production of animal product be more ethical and stop them from being abused within factories than blaming the people who do not have the resources or reason to stop eating meat or dairy.
Also, being vegan doesn't give you a free pass to abuse people. Just because he's a vegan doesn't mean we shouldn't take the abuse allegations against him seriously.
