So I've googled just about every possibility for grass decay, I've been taking different routes through my town (not running), planted as many flowers as I could, watered all the flowers over the dead/nonexistent grass. NOTHING IS GROWING BACK??? I even have a cordoned off section (the PWP fenced in area) where I planted flowers and I only stand on the outskirts to water that and now that's decaying too?! What gives?! Now I have so little grass and I don't know what I'm doing wrong and it's freaking me out!! What should I do? Or rather, what CAN I do? :(

Any and all help is appreciated!! Thank you!

Oof, I don't know! I'm in a similar conundrum. My town is getting very dirty. It feels like it takes longer to grow back than to deteriorate!

it's so aggravating. My town still looks nice but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong! I hope your grass grows back too! :)

I'd tt if I was desperate. :/ That sounds awful. I hate lots of dirt. I think it makes the town look like a wasteland. Yuck

Does putting down patterns work? Like could I just pattern the heck out of it and make it look nice and the grass will grow back underneath it??? idk how QR codes work at all, but I would learn to save the grass!

The patterns will not make a difference, as if you walk over them, the grass will still deteriorate. It'd have the same effect as having no patterns. :(

This may be a silly question but is it partly to do with the seasonal change? I recall my towns getting a lot of unexpected grass decay when Autumn hit in-game in the past. It didn't bother me but it was noticeable.

I'm not sure, but I do know grass grows slower during winter. The snow resets it, though.

It's so strange that you don't want any grass decay and having loads and yet I want grass decay and whatever I've tried it hasn't worked! ;) I think the changing season isn't going to help any and obviously it's only a couple of months or so before the grass goes completely and snow takes over. Think that might have something to do with why nothing is growing back for you very quickly right now :(

Your walking everywhere
Make a path only and let the other thing rest
That what I do

You can always time travel. When a villager pings to move, decline. Then you can travel any amount of time and no one else will move out! I usually go one month forward and all my grass is back in tip top shape! If you aren't willing to time travel then I would say just do what the others have told you to do on here! Oh, and make sure you have beautiful town ordinace in effect first!

i read somewhere that snow and not playing the game as much will make the grass regrow faster, seemed to work for my town.

That's also what I do, once every couple of months. It works like a charm and it's always such a joy to see my town all green again!

I'm TTing more and more now. So if I decline ONE villager's ping to move, and then TT a month ahead my grass should be back to normal??? Can I go back to the current date once my grass has grown back, or does TTing backwards reverse the new grass grown??? Thank you!!

I'm pretty sure, unless someone more educated on this matter says otherwise.

Is this true? Does snow get rid of grass decay for spring?

I plant trees and bushes to cover it up, but I barely have any grass decay....

yeah actually. It is turning into autumn, but before September hit my grass was already in a steady to steep decline. interesting about the seasonal change though! Thank you!

honestly, just run in ways that you want to make paths. just run a lot in the same patterns, that's what happened to me. I was trying to AVOID paths I'd inadvertently made and then ended up with worse decay from trying to avoid it in the first place. ugh! thanks!

There are patches of soil in the town that will never be green, no matter what you do/don't. It's programmed to be like that. I also have three or four spots in my town where grass won't ever grow, it will be forever brown and quite makes me sad because it looks kinda ugly...
