So yesterday I booted up my game while trying to catch up to the current date (got delayed by about a week while trying to get rid of a villager without voiding him), and to my surprise Gracie showed up for the second fashion check. So I ordered some clothes that met the theme she asked for, then left the game closed for a bit. A couple hours later I open the 3DS back up... and find a message telling me the game pak had been ejected (completely untrue) and had to restart the game. I thought it would be no big deal since I had done a Save and Continue after foiling a move request, only to load the game back up and find Gracie had completely gone.

After a few reset attempts to get her back despite Resetti's constant pop-ups (this failed; there must be something in the coding that prevents guests from showing up if you reset as an anti-cheating punishment), I gave up. I was so angry that I couldn't bring myself to play the stupid game for the rest of the day. I'm still a little mad about it, even though I've had a day to cool down.

Just wanted to vent about that, sorry for the boring read.

...Huh.

OK, I just discovered something new. Apparently all it takes to bring Gracie back is to enter a building or the market street and come back. I guess she just disappears while Resetti yells at you.

Well, I feel a lot better now.:D

Hey, you should've looked on the bright side, at least you had GRacie. I have the right store for Gracie to be coming in, but he never does show up for me.

Yeah, the conditions for getting the Emporium are something like:
*30 days since TIY opened
*Spend 100,000 bells at TIY (and something like 70k is required for Gracie to start appearing)
*Pass 4 of Gracie's checks

The problem is she appears so freaking infrequently. In my first town, her first appearance came about a month after TIY opened, and it was about another month and a half before she finally showed up for a fourth time.

Does anyone know if ordering from the catalog counts as money spent?

K, well it's been open for 30 days. Probably have to spend more money on clothes, but I never like anything there.

TIY is a furniture store. The Able sisters sell the clothing. If you buy from the Able sisters I don't believe it counts. Could be wrong...

If memory serves, catalog orders don't count. Just turn on Bell Boom and buy the furniture each day. Buying all the day's furniture will generally count for about 15-20k under Bell Boom, so you'll meet the requirement in no time.
