It's taking a billion years to transfer data from my old 3DS....bleh...Anyone else have this kind of problem? lol Also my old 3DS has a tendency to freeze at random moments...so that could be the issue. Anyone else have a 3DS that freezes? Or is it just me?

It may be how much content is being transferred. I remember we had to come back to Gamestop the next day after letting them transfer my data because on my old regular 3DS I had maxed out all the blocks I could use.

I think it normal just takes forever. Like 6 hours+. I'm not sure because the most I have every upgraded is for a ds lite to a new 3ds so I don't have experience with transferring.

Mine took about 4 hours or so to transfer everything. Total pain in the butt.

As for freezing, I found my old 3DS XL only froze once - during a confirmation of a download. Shortly there after, I received the new 3DS XL as a gift. So I haven't been having any problems.

Transferring the data wirelessly is the slowest method out of the 3 available. It could go anywhere from 30 minutes to 8 hours depending on how much GB your old SD Card contained and if your new microSD card is able to receive that much of data. There is absolutely zero reason why you should ever pick that option over the others. Avoid it at all costs, unless you have a very limited Internet.

Ironically, it's much better if you perform a Low-capacity transfer than the former option, as it won't transfer the downloaded titles themselves but the saves are. It's much faster if you download these titles back from eShop, assuming that you aren't about to hit your Internet Connection monthly cap.

If you happen to have the right screwdriver to open up the back cover of your New 3DS XL at that time, then the last method of transfer is the fastest out of the bunch. All you have to do is to copy all content to your target microSD card and a 30 minutes long transfer and you'll be done!

Thanks! Never knew there was three ways to do it. :)
