Good Villagers for a Harvest Moon-Themed Town?

I've recently begun working on a second town with a sort of light Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons theme, but I'm not entirely sure what villagers to consider getting to populate it. I don't much care for most of the bovines or chickens, so I feel like going straight up "farm animals" isn't really what I want. What I'm sort of looking for instead is villagers who look like they could be characters in a Harvest Moon sort of game -- old school, for preference. It's a sort of nebulous "I know it when I see it" requirement, so composing a list of would-be candidates is...difficult, and I thought I might ask for suggestions from people! Since I'll ultimately be assembling my semi-final list myself, so don't worry too much about composing suggestions in the form of a list of 10 villagers of different personalities or such.

In short, who are some villagers who feel like they could be Animal Crossing villagers? If someone reminds you of a specific character, toss that along, too!

Same here, I really don?t know who to recommend but I think it?s an awesome theme. I LOVE Harvest Moon, I?m going to get Story of Seasons as soon as possible and I wish they would cross it over with Animal Crossing.

My most beloved characters from this game are the N64 ones. Popuri (my fav waifu ), Karen, Ann, Elli, Marie. I was checking for pink characters, for example, to see if any resembles Popuri. The closest I could find is Chrissy, but then I don?t really know her. Is that what you have in mind?

Anyway great idea, would love to visit!

Cool idea! I tried to give you 2-3 of each type, but I really struggled with cranky, lazy, and uchi villagers, but ended up with too many normals and snooties! Sorry if this list sucks. Some of them just gave me the right vibe, but you might not get it. Hopefully at least one of these will be a decent suggestion.

Eunice: you might not like cows and chickens, but how about sheep? She's pretty cute
Gala: a cute pink pig. Reminds me a little of the pig from magical melody.
Kiki: looks like the cat from wonderful life
Lily: has a colour scheme similar to the mermaid Leila from the DS version
Maple: reminds me of Elli from mineral town
Marcie: reminds me of Nina's mother, Liz and Rick and Popuri's mother whose name I forget, but also starts with L
Molly: Has a really down to earth look so she reminds me of characters like Celia

Cookie: reminds me of Popuri
Felicity: reminds me of the inn keeper's wife from ToT and Animal Parade
Victoria: reminds me of Renee from ToT and Animal Parade

Ankah: seems like an exotic character in HM
Bree: right rich girl look for HM
Freya: kinda sorta reminds me of Karen from Mineral Town, kinda vague, but she's got this wild look to her
Monique: once again the right snob look for HM
Olivia: same as above
Soleil: her facial expression just made me pick her
Whitney: similar to Freya, but I also really like her house

Shari & Tami: I really don't know who to suggest for an uchi, but I like these two!

Bob: sorta reminds me of Julius from ToT and Animal Parade
Deli: I just like his smiley face, could potentially almost remind me of Rock from Wonderful Life I guess

Bud: Also has a similar look to Rock and likes sports, but he also has a beach thing going which reminds me of Kai
Curly: I thought a pig might be nice
Rudy: He's cute and I thought his home suited the theme

Roscoe: there are a lot of tall guys in HM with black hair (Marlin, Carter, that SoS guy who wears lots of green...)
Tom: I just felt like he'd work

Colton: similar colour scheme to Mitzel from SoS
Curlos: I just felt like his facial expression worked really well, he could pass for Gustafa I suppose
Shep: I thought his house was well suited

I feel like it might be a good idea to pick out your favourite characters and find villagers who remind you of them.

The only Harvest Moon game I've played is FOMT/MFOMT (and I loved it!) So I'll give you some Villager suggestions based on the characters from that game.

i know it's not really what you are looking for , but i would say Shep the dog. he's a herding dog , so he would tie in very well with the sheep villagers.
Benedict the chicken is pretty cute , and Kevin the pig , he looks a bit like wild boar.

I'd do any villagers that are farm animals in order to fit the whole farming theme.

I know that you already have Velma in Argent, but she would be a good villager to resemble Mary from FoMT/MFoMT.
