Honestly, if gays can marry, let them marry. It doesn't really matter
Click on the spoiler in my signature.
Thats enough of an answer for me....Awkward....
Who wants pie?
Why is it awkward? >_>

Yay. I'm not gay, but this is a step forward in equality. Church and state are supposed to be separate, so why should the church's view rule over decisions?

Because for centuries, gays have been shunned by the people. There's no church-state thing going on, just the people's will.

Church and state isn't very separate anymore. :-/

As for the whole gay thing I've been there, done that. Despite what many people say gay relationships aren't all that great. With two guys in a relationship it might look like a perfect relationship at first, but as time goes on the two begin to eat away at each other.
I'm not saying gay marriage is wrong. I'm just saying that a marriage is better between a man and woman. The two different parts compliment each other, unlike the power struggle in a gay relationship.

You can flame me now.

But the church influences peoples decisions.

Exactly. But it's not the government saying that those people have to believe what they want is it?
That would be a sort of church-state thing, not this.

But Church Influences people, who elect officials. So, politicians are always trying to appeal to the majority religion, in this case, Christianity.

If some politician said "VOTE FOR ME, IMZ CHRISTIAN," I'm pretty sure they'd be stoned or something.
But still, church-state is the church commanding the government. Not the people agreeing with some of the church's beliefs.

America is and never was a Christian nation.

Because everything is black and white, right?

And how all gay people flutter about like total queens, right?

I know you say you're an ex-gay and all, and I'm not gonna argue with you about your beliefs, but saying that gay relationships cannot be as good as straight ones is a flat out lie. I have the best relationship I could ever ask for, and it's going to last forever. There is no power struggle at all. Maybe there was for you, but you must not have found the right person. I'm not flaming you, I'm just telling you how it is.
