Good lord I hate landscaping

So after putting off landscaping for months and months I finally motivated myself to start some the other day. I imagined it being a straightforward process that would just be a bit time consuming, BUT NO. It started off fine in the first two days but now I'm dealing with rocks in stupid places, dead spots (the very worst) ruining lovely bush walls and bamboo placements and I woke up this morning excited to see some new perfect fruit trees around the top left of my path BUT NO. Every single one died because there must be 'too many' in that area. Grrrrrrr >.<

Ok don't get all too hype up and go around wrecking unbreakable stone or hitting unwanted villagers~ Everything has the solution~I too have random rocks (I think 5) around my town but I take thing easy and relax to figure out how to deal with all this obstruction. Yet I have them all figured out nicely in my town right now. Also you can go visiting/asking advice from others on how to deal with it.

You might not have the idea but someone else can help you =) is not all so bad~

And for the tree problem~You can only have 2 row not 3 or the middle one will die~ What is your native fruits? I can help you if is was peaches =x

I enjoy landscaping ~ It's fun just thinking where stuff should go and testing it out, and then it works out in the end!
I like to landscape after I get most of my villagers though so it's easier to work around the houses and all c:

...although the 12 bushes thing does peeve me.

I loved the idea of planning everything but it's the dead spots that get me! I have bamboo and olive shoots surrounding a hot spring and theres TWO dead spots so I can't make it all even D: there's another dead spot on a bush wall which takes it down to 11 bushes in a wall :|

For example, I have a path running down from my bridge, and the path is two spaces from a river. I have space for 12 bushes before they won't be able to grow(because they're too close to the river) on the right side, but on the left side, my paths keep going, and then there's that one spot that I can't get a bush to grow ugggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Then build a pwp to cover up the dead spot! I have no idea where is the dead spot in my town xD And if I ever know one I will just add pwps there =D You know, is nice when tree cover up a suitable pwps xD

working around it is part of the challenge and for me part of the fun too. most people place pwps or flowers over dead spots.

This is the opposite for me....every few days I need to make some changes from villagers moving etc I like landscaping! I barely even work on my house because I just landscape my town all the time

I don't know if this helps any, but what I did to deal with the one dead spot problem I had with bushes was to dig up the corresponding bush on the other side of the path, so at least the gaps in the path would be symmetrical. Symmetrical matching gaps, with maybe a flower in the gap or something, at least looks more purposeful. As for tree dead spots, you'll probably just have to re-arrange the tree layout a bit. New Leaf's dead spots are a lot less restricting than past games, actually; I don't usually have much of a problem planting trees. Though it's important to keep in mind that cedar trees only grow in the top half of town, and that layouts of trees shouldn't be too dense.

Landscaping is one of my favorite activities in the game but yeah, I can feel you about the frustrating things you can't control (like rocks >_<). You just gotta accept the flaws, hide them, work around them, work them into your plans, or something..

Landscaping is horrible. I chopped down all my trees and have been trying to place PWPs before worrying about gardens and orchards, only to find out I didn't unlock one of the PWPs I need and my only jock neighbor just moved out! As I walk around doing my daily chores, I think "okay, this can be a garden. Ohh, an orchard there will look nice!"

My only issue right now is a neighbor plopped her house down near where I was going to put the firepit after I unlocked it, so now I'm worried Isabelle is gonna tell me her house is too close >_< (Darn you, Peaches!)

I quite enjoy landscaping as well, it's actually my favorite part of the game; which I sadly haven't gotten into yet(new town). I've never had problems with rocks because I don't have an unrealistic expectation as to what my animal crossing town should look like. I'll do my best, but I know there are limits. So I just try to work around things and if it works it works, if it doesn't then at least I tried ^-^ I think the headaches and limits along the way is what makes it all worth it in the end for me.

I've started landscaping in my town, too. Rocks are quickly annoying me, and poorly placed dead spots.

Best thing I can do to make myself a little less annoyed or even more interested is to make a game out of it. Places bushes, trees and PWP to hide things. Try and make gaps symmetrical. Etc.

I have two annoying rocks right outside my town hall, but I'm starting to notice them less since I placed little grids surrounded by path patterns to mimic flower beds, sometimes with a rock inside of it with the flowers.

I really didn't name this thread right D: I'm actually really enjoying landscaping but it's so frustrating! Only being able to demolish/build 1 pwp per day is also pretty annoying
