I apologize if this could be simply answered on the thread for all of the questions, but I have a rather long question to ask and didn't know if it was too much. Anyway, I had a question about getting the gold watering can. I acheived "perfect town" and have time traveled between Oct. 14 and Oct. 15 (back and forth) about 20 times or more. I also checked to make sure my town still had the perfect status each time, which it did. However, I still haven't gotten the gold watering can. Did I time travel the wrong way? Did it not count because I only used two dates to travel between? (I read that no matter which day you travel to, next day or the day before, it will always be considered moving forward. True or no?)
Anyone who has the gold watering can from time travelling, how did you do it? I'm really asking for anyone who hasn't jumped 15 days, because I don't want to risk my villagers moving or an excessive amount of weeds to grow.
I didn't time travel back and forth like that to get my gold watering can. I wanted to wait 15 days with perfect town to get it lol.
I think if you really want to get it by time travelling, you could wait for a villager to ping you, decline, and then time travel the full 15 days. You can literally travel like years ahead and have all your villagers safe, but your town, not so much.
If you are looking for the golden watering can, you should not jump 15 days because you have to go day by day for it to count. Going back and forth does count for a new day (from experience going back a day does not let your bushes/trees grow when they're in the sprout or middle stages) Most likely you counted wrong though. I achieved it by actually going through 15 days of checking, so I'm not sure if that method will work.
I recently got the perfect town status and I had it for about 3 days before I accidentally did something;
I TT ahead to December 1st to help a friend catch a bug, when I went to start Isabelle said how I hadn't been on for a long time and so I freaked out a little thinking that maybe villagers may have moved or something.
So I homed out of the game before loading in and went back on and changed the date back to the current one. I loaded in and no villagers had moved, they all acted like I hadn't gone anywhere, all grass spots that had withered from my running had returned and loads of flowers had grown around my town.
I then went to the town hall the next day, because I forgot that I had a perfect status before I TT and Isabelle said I had had the status for 15 days and gave me the watering can even though I really only had it perfect for about 4 days.
Gracie also showed up even though I passed her test only 3 days prior... So actually I accidentally did a good thing >_<
In short, I don't think you need to go day by day. And if you never load into the game it wont register that a villager has moved, just incase one was thinking about moving, so when you go back to the normal date everything should be fine... Just be careful n_n
Hmmm I think to be safe you have to time travel a day forward everyday until you reach 15 days. For instance, when I do a pwp I cant time travel backwards in order for it to get finished. I think the same logic goes to getting the golden can since its a time sensitive thing.
