Golden Toilet Disaster

So I sold Fauna a Golden Toilet... Don't ask why I wasn't thinking. Now its just sitting in her home haunting me with every visit. I've tried asking her to buy it when she offered "if you like anything perhaps I could sell it to you?" Is there a way to get rid of this golden flushing atrocity! Or at least a way to replace it with something more comforting and fitting of her home?

I'd just send her letters with loads of different one-space items attached to them, eventually she'll replace it with one of those xD

Really, I just clicked this thread hoping for a picture!! There are lots of threads right now about opening your town just before 5pm - keep reopening until Fauna is home. Mail the replacement before 5pm and go into her house just after 5pm to see where she put it. Reset if it's not where you want it.

What happened when you tried to buy it? Did she refuse?

If you don't mind the fact that you might lose it, just send her a letter with a replacement item attached. You can send it shortly before 5 PM, then enter her house after 5 PM and see if she replaced the toilet. If not, quit without saving and try again. You can also visit her with an inventory full of useless stuff (like flowers and shells) and the item you want her to have, and when she offers to buy it from you or trade, accept and leave her house. Go back and see if it's replaced the toilet. If not, quit without saving and just keep trying.

Those methods work best if you only want her to replace the toilet and none of her other items. If you don't mind her replacing other random stuff, then you can send her multiple things that take up the same amount of space or be less careful about checking and resetting. Clothes also count as one-space items if you don't mind using them as decoration.

You can also just try to be patient She might ask you eventually if you can find her something to replace the toilet.

Thank you for the picture!! Now try to catch a pic of her sitting there, lol. I think that method would work for most anything you want them to change But fish and bugs are the worst apparently.

Yes, but you sometimes have to mail it 2 or 3 times before they change, and then one of the spares gets displayed in their house. The reset trick might take longer but give better results?

Same here.. That'd be a hilarious achievement. I'm sure dream town visitors who check villager houses would appreciate a joke like that, too.
