Golden slingshot already?

Hi

I've had this new town only since 22 July and a golden slingshot just passed through my town? lol!

What's interesting is that

I haven't had the silver slingshot pass by yet
I don't even have a slingshot??

What is this sorcery?

It's all random, really.
I could never get the normal slishot to show up at the nooks, and the day after I got it, the silver sling shot floated by.
I got the golden one really quick after that.

Could've sworn you were supposed to shoot down a certain amount of balloon presents before getting it. That's how it was in older games anyway.
I did hit down a few with my net so maybe that's why. I'm not sure though, this seems weird!

Nah actually, I recently bought a second save file and on the first day of me joining one went past, luckily I'd already bought a slingshot by then.
It's COMPLETELY random, so you could get it really early on or really late in the game.
