Golden Rule? Can someone help me with this one? Need to visit a town with 6 people

I received a request from one of my residents, Beardo that I need to get 6 signatures from residents of another town. I have a couple of questions.

1. What is the Golden Rule/ Will anything happen in my town after I finish the petition?
2. I also need some help with the visiting a town part.

The petitions are for the most part useless. They do count as doing a "favor" for your townspeople, but as far as I can tell, that only counts toward earning that badge. If you want, I can add you so you can get signatures from my villagers. They're all mostly friendly, and I bet they'd like a "Golden Rule," lol!

In the Bible the golden rule is "So in every thing, do to other what you would have them to do to you, for this sums up the Law and the and the Prophet." Matthew 7:12 book NIV I know this because I'm a Christian! but this is probably not what your thing is about though.
