Its called a shiny, and yeah, its like some crazy number, something like 1/8742 or somewhere around there.

I've never seen a shiny, but my friend has seen a shiny zubat, but ran away from it >_>

I've seen a Shiny Espeon but it was in the Battle Tower or something and it wasn't a random one. I have a Red Gyarados in Gold and I once saw a silver psyduck in Gold but the box was full and in that series if your box was full you coudln't catch any pokemon, so I coudln't catch him.
