I know you get a golden axe when you break so many but is there a way to tell how many you have until you get a golden one? I tried looking but couldn't find anything.

The number of axes I'm finding online is 100. It's been a very long time since I got mine, but I believe that that is accurate.

There's not really any way of telling how many axes you've broken so far, though. There's a goal for breaking tools but it doesn't only count the axes.

I still haven't unlocked the golden axe either. I'm probably going to just fly to random islands and breaks as many flimsy axe as I can. There really isn't a way to check unless you pay close attention to your nook mile awards where you can get nook miles for breaking your tools.

The easiest way to do it is use a flimsy axe (since it breaks after about 40 hits) and keep hitting a random tree on your island until it breaks, rinse and repeat.

I don't know the exact number of tries though. 😓

i did this while island hopping to look for a villager, i thought two (or three, since i got a lot of materials) birds with one stone you know. went through a good 30 axes before i stopped.

but @ op i wish there was a way to know how many are left but there isn't. sucks but you just have to keep going until you get it, sadly ;w;

unfortunately, i don’t think that there’s any in-game way of knowing but what i did was i would jot down whenever i broke an axe to try and keep track of the number. it was off by a bit as i didn’t do it right from the start but it helped to give me a general idea of how much longer i had to go, which was nice aha
