considering a LOT of you are veteran, or at least experienced players, these are going to come off as really silly questions i'm sure. however, i'm neither of those things and a lot of the occurrences that happen i'm left feeling perplexed about because i don't know all the details. for example, it wasn't until i registered here (not even a week ago) that i learned about villager portraits ^^;

today i woke up to find some gold roses. i'm not sure how i produced them, i do have a gold watering can if that's somehow related? what do i do with them? any information and suggestions would go a long way - i'm torn between being excited and confused currently.

Welcome welcome!! Animal crossing truly is a lovely game with a lovelier community to boot. Golden roses have been a part of the series for a while. In ACNH gold roses can be produced by watering black roses with a gold can OR rain has a small chance to produce them as well! Has to be black roses though.

Oh forgot to mention, they can be plucked and used in the gold rose crown and wreath diys or sold to nooks for a decent amount I think? I’ve never personally sold them. Otherwise just like all the other flowers, they’re there for decor :) they’re considered a little more rare so other players could be interested in buying them as well.

No worries if you’re brand new to AC! These are actually really good; the blooms sell for 1k a pop! You get them by watering a black rose with a golden watering can. The details on maximizing your chances are a bit too complicated to explain quickly, though.

oh! well it could be a combination between the rain and my watering can for sure, then. i had no idea that gold flowers were even a thing in the game o:

i'll definitely have to figure out what i'll be doing with them. is there a way to spawn more from the one i have now, or is it another RNG dealio with the black roses?

There’s no way to duplicate or breed a gold rose from another gold rose, unfortunately. Just keep watering your black roses (you might want to water them like you would with a flimsy watering can to increase your chances greatly).

I did not know rain had a small chance to produce it. Thank you for explaining this :). I got some a few weeks ago after it rained, though a couple days before, someone watered them with a gold watering can and he told me when I told him this that there is a chance for them to grow even if the first day after them being watered, didn’t result in any.

hi,
if you water black roses with a watering can they will eventually breed golden roses. this is not true for any other flower. I believe if you water it with a golden watering can even just a few times and then it rains there's still a chance for it to breed into gold even though you didn't water with the golden can the previous day (it's happened to me before. i guess they just have golden coding in them after 1 water).

and welcome to tbt!!! :))))))))
