We've been sitting on trying to figure out what we want to do with our game and realized that we kind of have a desire to meet every villager by having them on our island and interacting with them. So, why not make that the goal?

Think this would be possible? There's 391 villagers at the moment, so it would definitely be a long term thing, but I'd definitely love to do it if possible.

I'm trying to do this and bringing them to Harv's island so I can order their poster as well. (I do have all the posters cataloged but I want to be able to see them via the nook shopping (special goods section).

To be honest I didn't realize you could do that until recently haha, but I'd definitely like to do that too as part of the goal.

I think it would be possible; you would need a lot of patience to do so, of course. If you have amiibos, or know someone who has amiibos, that would definitely help.

For this to be possible I think it would probably be best to time travel, however. It takes about 2 weeks on average for a villager to move out, which means once you get 10 villagers, you'd need to either wait 2 weeks from one to request to leave, or get lucky from the campsite/force them out with an amiibo.

It'd be really easy at first, but once you got down to about 20 villagers left I'm sure it'd be a lot harder to keep track of who you have and haven't met/find the villagers you need.

Really cool to have a challenging long term goal like that! Although in this game it takes so long for villagers to ask to move out. Without TTing, if it takes about 10+ days for each villager to move out, the whole process would take like 10 years.
Personally I’d just find it too hard not to get attached to certain villagers and want to keep them around forever ;u;.

You would absolutely need to time travel or bring in amiibos to do this. Given there's probably 390~ villagers you haven't had on your island yet that would equate to something like 15 years to cycle through every one naturally and that's assuming you got someone to move out right at 2 weeks and had the new villager lined up to come in the next day

With a big collection of amiibo cards (or making your own?) this would definitely be possible! I'm regretting not taking my ex-villagers to Harvey's now, as the posters would be a good record of who I've met so far.

That's what I'm doing too! Except for all my amiibo cards, I scanned all of those as soon as I could to reduce the amount of villagers I need to invite. (And I forgot to invite my first random camper and can't remember if it was Peck or Sparrow. Either way they're out of the campsite pool now Q_Q)

Update: Of course Cherry decides to move out Right before I get started on the challenge and she's one of the villagers I wanted to get rid of so I don't want to miss the opportunity rip

I think that’s a really cool goal! With amiibo cards its for sure achievable as you can boot someone out without having to wait for a thought bubble.

I plan on having all of my villagers I have amiibo cards of live on my island before I settle on my “faves” I’ve already made a new all time favorite with Buck so I want to get to know them all. I have 70 villagers cards, and 3 on my “want” list though I’ll probably only get two bc of price.
