i was trying to trade my raymond to a person. they told me they were gonna give me 1000 nmts. they dropped 100 and then they went to go talk to raymond. then they tried to leave after inviting him. i had to forcefully quit ac. and when i came back Raymond was glitched. hes crafting on an invisible table. im so frustrated.

I've never experienced this glitch myself, and I'm sorry that this happened to you! Does he still seem glitched? I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with this particular issue but I've seen images online of villagers crafting on invisible tables before. I hope that by now he's been fixed! Wishing you the best!

It's awful that someone would try to do this to you - I hope you manage to find a solution. Putting down 10% payment would set some alarm bells ringing, though - the only time I sold a villager, they insisted on paying the full amount by the airport before being led to the house.

Movers crafting when they're in boxes is a common glitch. I've seen it myself. Don't know that it affects being able to invite them to another town, but it might be worth trying to see if someone else can still adopt Raymond from you. The glitch seems harmless, and it has nothing to do with force quitting your game to get rid of the scammer. If you search this New Horizons forum for the word "crafting" in titles only, you'll see lots of people talking about this specific glitch.

I've experienced this glitch before. I was trying to adopt Genji from someone else's island but he was crafting. In the end, I decided not to go through with the trade as I was worried it would glitch my plot. I'm sure Raymond wouldn't be glitched forever.
oh this is completely safe. it's happened to me twice while villager trading and it isn't caused by forcefully quitting or anything, it's just a random occurrence. people can still adopt the villager like normal without any problems! just a goofy glitch lol

i met them on the acnh discord. their discord is [removed] raymond didnt move to their island though. i didnt think anyone would take raymond if he was glitched so i didnt try to trade him anymore,,

That's awful! D: I'm so sorry that they did that to you, it's horrible when something like that happens. As they say though, it does seem like a pretty common glitch and it's probably nothing to worry about. Next time you sell or trade one of your villagers, I'd recommend putting pitfalls around the entrance to their house so if the person tries to cheat you there's enough time to close the connection. Also, saving beforehand seems like a good idea too.

I just adopted a 'glitched' Ankha. She was crafting while I went to adopt her, and everything was fine. I think it was just supposed to be her crafting day, so she was crafting when they forced her out with a camper. I don't think it affects the adoption process at all. You could have him adopted by someone else.

you should definitely try selling him again if you still have him! like about a billion people would want him and I've had it proven to me that nothing glitches out when adopting him. the two times it happened to me I didn't even realise until the trader walked in and showed me a screenshot lol. neither of them cared at all that they were glitched, they just found it funny so I think you'd easily find people willing to adopt him!
I would recommend selling him on this forum though, the feedback system makes this place very unfriendly to scammers so you'll have a much better chance of having a successful trade
