Giving flowers to Villagers for furniture?

Okay, so Butch has a clover for a furniture item as default. So that means it's possible, right?
Can we "wrap" flowers to give them to villagers? Has anyone tried this?

It is possible. One time, I gifted all of my villagers flowers in a color and type that I thought would look nice in their home. I just attached the flowers to a letter and sent them that way. About half of my villagers displayed the flowers. In fact, Hans still has the purple violets I gave him displayed in his house.
