Giving fish and bugs to villagers

I want to move up the friendship ladder with my villagers, but I don't want to fill their houses with bugs and fish! I always end up refusing their requests.

Do you guys give them the bugs and fish they want anyway? If so, do you give them nice furniture so they replace the bugs and fish? Or do you disregard the originality of their houses and just give them whatever they ask?

Nope. It actually is WORSE than just telling them no.

So do you think it's better to give them the ugly fish and bugs, at the expense of their interior design? And is it possible to get their pics even if I refuse their bug and fish requests?

If they ask for bugs, I say no, if they ask for a river fish, I try to find a gold fish, and if it's a ocean fish, I try to get a sea butterfly, or like, a clown fish or something cute. I try not to get the large fish, for their houses do really get ugly. Though, I gave punchy a cricket once, and he never got rid of it, he always claimed it reminded him of me and he loved it xD

Most of the time I just try to get them somewhat decent looking fish or bugs. In some houses I think it actually looks pretty cute! I never give them any of the huge fish though, since that instantly ruins their home.

I also like the mentioned idea of only catching the tiniest fish. I think I might do that from now on!

But as Ami said, if you'd rather not do those requests it's better to say no than to say yes and just not do them.

If they ask to buy it out of my pocket I always say no(ends up in their house). If they ask me to catch a bug I say no(too much trouble). If they ask for a random fish from river/ocean I say yes and get it for them (never ends up in their house).

Well, just give them a rare species of the bug/fish to get a better friendship level c:
Like a Horned Hercules, Shark, etc.

But yeah, I bet they'll just display them in their houses ;__;

I used to, but ugh, trying to get them to replace them is next to impossible sometimes. Bruce kept a fish I gave him for 9 months. He probably just packed it up to take with him (he's in boxes atm). It's really annoying to me, so I always say no now. It doesn't really hurt friendship as long as you do everything else. Trust me, I have all my villagers pics, so I know they still love me. Just give them perfect fruit and do other favors. IDK if you like to reset or not, but I couldn't play without resetting. XD So anyway, I even open their packages and make sure I approve of the clothes or furniture before I give it to them. I reset until they give it to me instead, if it's something I don't want them to have.

I always say no. I heard saying yes and not doing it makes the friendship go down, but saying no does nothing.

No this doesn't work that well. I didn't give them a single fish or bug and always turn down their request. I only did the delivery, visiting mine or their house, and giving them suitable furniture, that all and I received their pic =x even you have max friendship it is random whether they will give you their pic or not~ Still don't give up on that you will receive one day! April Fool is the fastest~

No. I mean as in, it actually LOWERS your friendship if you say yes and don't do it. Saying No should keep it about the same.

As for fish. I like to give them to villagers I can't find much else I want to give to them for there house. I plan on giving Hopper (My Favorite Villager!) a Coelacanth and a Marlin for his house!
