Yeah, but still. Can you imagine what kind of money I'd be rakin' in if I actually played like 5 hours a day at that hourly rate? Sadly, that's not how musicians make their money... You always go from one place to another, and there's never any set pay or set schedule.Propaganda Man said:You weren't really being paid by the hour but congrats

It shouldn't be about the money right now though. It should be about getting your name out there. If you do reach success then the money will take care of itself.Bulerias said:Yeah, but still. My favorite band (Blue October) started their success in Texas and kept it in that region for a while. The result was undying support from the fans and now from all across the U.S. But whatever you do I hope it works outBulerias said:100% agreed. My main concern right now is making a name for myself, at least locally. As it stands, I think it's safe to say that a fairly decent amount of people know about me.Propaganda Man said:It shouldn't be about the money right now though. But still not enough. Before I head off to college, I want to be one of the biggest flamenco artists in my state. D: And I don't think that's going to be impossible. By that time, my teachers will already have stopped playing at gigs due to age and other stuff, so my competition will be limited to some mediocre artists...
Of course, I may as well have to go beyond only my state. One of my best friends (he's a flamenco guitarist) moved to New York and began an internship (or, as he calls it, apprenticeship) with one of the best flamenco guitarists in America... So I dunno what's in my future.
It was really 2 hours and it was sort of a concert.DarthGohan1 said:Nice job Bully.

And asking for 80 bucks for an hour is modesty?!?!?
Asking for $80 for what was supposed to be a two-hour thing is REALLY modest, trust me. Even asking $80 for an hour is modest for this kind of thing. $100 for an hour is, I would say, average pay as far as performing arts is concerned.DarthGohan1 said:Nice job Bully.

Well...Kiro said:That is awesome! When I go to some events like that (I haven't gone to many) I always wonder what it's like to be a guitarist. My personal guitar teacher played at some of my events and we were able to play a duet together. That was really sweet. I'm glad you had fun.
^_^ Now you know what to expect for the next one.
Ah, thanks for reminding me of the MP3s. I'll try getting them up today.OddCrazyMe said:Awesome... Money is always a good thing (even if you don't get to spend it freely)
Still I don't have the mp3s for your CD though D=
