Giant Petaltail Dragonfly

This little bugger's the last I need to complete my encyclopedia! My town is in August currently and I have the time set to 5:30, but I haven't seen one. Any tips on how to catch/find it?

I would recommend island tours. (Not dragonfly ones.)
Instead of hunting for furniture/flowers/fishing, borrow a net and go bug hunting.

I thought you couldn't catch them on the tours? :O

Yes, you can catch them, as long as catching any kind of bug isn't the TYPE of tour. Go on a Hide and Seek Tour, that's where I usually catch some large dragonflies and birdwing butterflies. Good luck!

I just saw like 5 today and I was on today's date (oct 24...) at 5pm.

Actually, what worked for me was pretty simple: Go all around your town looking for the bug. If you don't see one, go inside (your house, the Town Hall, Re-Tail, whatever is closest), then go back outside and repeat the process. I did this a maximum of two times before I first found one. And it worked when I tried it again later to get one for a villager that wanted one.
