Getting villagers to move fast without TT?

Does anyone have any tips to get villagers to ping you to move at the fastest rate without time traveling?

There... Is no way without TTing. Otherwise they'll just ping you for normal things. This game runs in real time, so if you're not TTing, their move cycle will not go faster either.

Are they more likely, for example, to ping you if you save and quit periodically throughout the day rather than leaving it on the whole time you play? I'm wondering if there's anything like that.

Yes. But again, that will only be for PWPs/other normal crap they want to ask if nobody is ready to move out yet.

Could do the diving trick, AKA fill your inv with moneybags/unassessed fossils/flowers and go down to the beach, wait 5 mins, then go back up for pings.

The moving cycle varies. I've waited 12 days for a ping recently. :| It's usually supposed to be 3-5 days, but apparently my games hate me.
