Getting the Same Gifts From Villagers Constantly

I've been trying to get as many photos as I can. As soon as I get someone's photo, I kick them out to let someone else move in. So I give a lot of gifts, and get a lot of gifts in return.

I Googled whether people have been getting the same gifts over and over again, and there was a post on Reddit I think about it, but not much else. Good to see people have the same issue. But to me it feels like I get one type of thing during a certain time, and then another thing during another. Like back during the summer I would get jockey outfits and cycling shirts CONSTANTLY, now, not so much. Same with pilot caps, but I still get soccer uniform tops regularly. I've been getting a couple sushi chef hats lately, and TONS of sleeved aprons. Molly gives me simple parkas a lot but I didn't bother to check the colour.

But sometimes villagers will give me the same exact thing back to back! Just today, I ran an errand for Molly and got a puffy-sleeved plaid shirt. I gave a gift to Rudy and got the same exact shirt. Same colour!

Last night I ran an errand for Rolf and he gave me a snowy sweater. When I gave Molly her gift for today, she gave me the same one!

This hasn't happened in a while, but it's happened before. Back in October or so I would get the same things from Pinky and Moe back-to-back. These fishing vests come to mind.

And while these aren't the same colour, I got these aprons on the same day as well.

I don't know whether it's funny this keeps happening to me, or really sad.

What's the deal with this limited pool of items? It really is only the same couple items at a time. Always with the jockey uniforms. And if it's not a jockey uniform, it's a sleeved apron or a fishing vest. For every one good item I get I get fifty parkas. I don't know if it's the same for furniture because my villagers almost never give me furniture as a gift. But at least it's usually something different every time, even if it's cheap.

I think it was yesterday or the day before where I got four or five different variants of the Terry-cloth Nightgown (there are eight in total). I was baffled by the RNG. Today, I got two variants of the Hanten Jacket (there are four in total). No complaints, though, seeing as I didn't have these clothes catalogued; however, I could see how this could be frustrating if one keeps getting items they have already gotten.

Yeah I see a lot of similar items pop up when I give them gifts for photos. Terry-Cloth Nightcaps, Jockey Outfits, and Aprons are some of the favorite return gifts on my island in my experience. I haven't gone through and examined my catalogue of clothing, but it'd be interesting to see how many color variations of them I've gotten.

OMGosh. Drago is the worst re this. I keep giving him valuable gifts and he repeats gifts to me like the track jacket. I'm like "Drago, have you ever seen me wear activewear? No. No you have not." But of course you have to be polite when accepting a gift.

Yes and it's annoying. I've gotten lots of track jackets and baby jumpers(really a baby jumper?). after school jacket and cap are also things they love to give me. and the chefs outfit. i give them nice stuff and they give me weird stuff. and its usually ugly too.

I wish they can give us a furniture variant that's not native to our island.

My deer just LOVE giving me concierge outfits, for whatever reason...I wish that the gift pool wasn’t skewed towards clothing in the first place.

Wut? Those are the gifts I usually get as well. Except the jockey outfit is far more common than baby rompers.

I might be the rare exception where i get random items. I usually gift wrap fruit and I either get cheap furniture or random clothing.

I mean I usually sell it so it doesn’t exactly matter what I get in return.

I have definitely gotten a ton of jockey outfits and sleeved aprons and other things that I have no interest in. At first it was useful for at least cataloging them. But actually today I was really impressed that each of my villagers give me winter clothing I didn’t have. I don’t know if it matters if the friendship level is high? Most of the villagers in my town are now maxed out in friendship. I also make sure to give them wrapped gifts that are at least 1000 bells in value. For example two wrapped foreign fruits.

Those hideous jockey outfits.... Probably get those the most. Then there’s the puffy sleeved shirt, terry cloth nightcaps, cycling shirt, and the basketball tank. I don’t mind the basketball tank though.

My villagers seem to be the only way I can acquire baby rompers, I've never had them in my Ables so I just end up collecting them from the villagers lol

Ugh this is why I never talk to my villagers they are like "Oh I got something for you!" And its another stupid clothing I seen a million times. I like my dream villagers but man this can get really annoying. Its the same thing when they run up to you ask you to change your nickname when you said no like 100 times. Also they can really bother you if they ask you "Is it true you want (insert whatever item)" and they just forced it on you. When you say "No" it means no you should not be forced to get items from a villager.

I like that idea but I would also want them to give us different stuff other than Clothes and Furniture. I seen on rare occasions when you give your villagers something they like so much there is a chance you would get Wallpaper or Flooring. I barely see them give me any bells.

I usually get a variety of gifts but I'm sick of the "throwback gothic mirror" and the "workout jacket"
