So I know all about moving rumors, and rumors when nobody is thinking of moving...
I've TT'd a total of 4 months now trying to get Peanut out (sad to make her go, but she plotted in the WORST spot).
Everytime someone wants to leave, it's not her. I'm usually always successful with getting unwanted villagers out, I just ignore them. Which is what I've been doing, but this time it aint happening.
So I decided to just TT day by day instead of every 5.
It's been almost a week since my last ping, and I've spam chatted all rest of the 9 villagers, no rumors at all. None about moving, and none related to when nobody is moving. To the point where I can't even talk to them anymore cause I've blown up their mind.

What should I do? TT a couple hours and try spam chatting again? I've walked around all of them and not 1 ping, so I don't think any of them are wanting to move.. it's just been over a week, so I'm scared. :c and dont have that reassurance with rumors.
Also, Marshal is sick. So that could be why I'm not getting any rumors, instead they keep talking about how he's sick. Anyway to prevent hearing about that?

EDIT: After about 9 months (TTing) she FINALLY pinged. I guess the ignore trick doesn't always work. I spam chatted her, jumped 6 days and she wanted to leave. Just adding this in incase anyone is having the same problem.

If you're afraid of losing one of the villagers you want to keep, on a new day that you haven't played yet, don't load your mayor, but instead go through the train sequence of creating a new character then walk around town and see if someone is in boxes. If they are, use your 3DS clock to move a day backward and then go find them. They won't be in boxes anymore only if you haven't loaded a pre-existing character on that day already. If you load up and Isabelle tells you they're moving out, you can't do anything. If you TT using Isabelle, set it to 5:58am on the day you're playing and when you exit your house, immediately save and quit before the clock switches to 6am, wait a couple minutes then go in with a new character and check all the houses again. Always quit the new character without saving them, i.e. don't set up their house.

As for Peanut, some villagers just take a while to leave. I had Freckles in front of my mayor's house for 8 months. Is she your 10th move in? Cause if she is she probably won't move out until you let someone else go. 10th villagers really don't like to leave.

Ahh very true I didn't even think of doing that. thank you!! I ended up tting ahead anyways and finally got a ping.

8 months? yikes... was that tting every couple days to get freckles to move or just playing day by day?
Peanut isn't my 10th move in but she is literally right next to my mayors house. I guess the ones living right next to you never want to leave huh? Lol. Ive been counting and have gotten 36 pings so far. None have been her .... ive tried staying on speaking terms with everyone, or everyone just peanut, or ignoring everyone but a few villagers. Nothing is working aaagh so frustrating D:

I reference this guide all the time for getting unwanted villagers to move. I've never lost a villager using this method, and it goes pretty quickly if you're not distracted by other things XD. Anyhoo, I really know the pains of having a villager plonk down in the wrong spot. I had Al move into a spot on my road, but I ended up working around it nicely. After what seemed like forever, he finally moved. Then two more villagers plonk down on other parts of my road XD. I can't win. Good luck getting Pecan to move.

That guide sounds amazing! I've been trying to get four villagers to move out so I can get my dreamies moved in but not a single one of them pings to move or has rumor to move. Well, Freya finally pinged to move and didn't decide to stay after I said bye lol. Thanks for the link!

Mm that guide is pretty good, but it's missing a few key things. I've moved out so many unwanted villagers while keeping dreamies, but this time around it's becoming a long and annoying process.. I pretty much worked off of that guide but have changed a few things. For example it's never a good idea to just have -one- villager as a "safety net", and it doesn't include the whole part about moving rumors & rumors when a villager isnt thinking of leaving.

Regardless though, thank you! Yeah it sucks big time when a good villager is in a bad spot. :c

I did a mixture. I'm in college so I go through points where I can't play as often as I'd like, so sometimes I'd TT a little, then I'd have to play normally for a while cause I didn't have time to sit and TT. I'm glad you finally got a ping though. The new character trick is something I use all the time when I go through spurts where I can't play for like a week or two cause of school.
