Getting more public works projects

Anyone know a way to get public works requests more quickly. I am barely getting any. I am under the limit for projects in my town so I would think the villagers would note that and make requests. I've tried the wait five minutes while staying out of site to get a ping, but it's always something related to a catchphrase or greeting.

The waiting 5 minutes is the only trick I know. Be sure your pockets are full of tools/flowers. Are there any villager types you have all the projects from already? I'd box them in so you don't accidentally walk by and get a useless ping from them on your way to a more productive villager. I've also heard to try late at night when only a few villagers are around so that they run out of things to ping you about and make a PWP suggestion sooner. One well-written thread I read on the topic said he can get a ping every day. He also builds or destroys a project each day. I have never found that building constantly affects pings, but I throw it out for what it's worth. The rest of his guide was very accurate and helpful.

Good luck! I have an Uchi and a Smug I'd like to kick out of town, and they seem to know that if they give up that last project I'm sending them packing!

The only known way is the 5 minute way. It can take up to an hour before you get a PwP request, you have to just keep trying.

i used to fill my pockets with flowers and wait around on the beach. it just takes a very long time. if they ask you for a catchphrase or greeting, just change it (you don't have to change it, just tell them you will and use the same one and they'll think it's sparkling brand new). that seems to quell it a bit, not 100% sure but just in my experience.

this tends to be very tedious, just watch something or eat while you do it. or you can search for scallop in the ocean and get your special gift. just make sure not to pick up any other stuff, or the villager may try to buy it.

What everyone else said. Also, if they offer to give you a new nickname then deny, because other villagers will want to call you by that nickname instead of asking for PWP. Also if they aren't dinging you, talk to them to see if they say you look tired. Save and quit then load up game again.

I just flood certain villagers and TT around.
When I was trying to get Muffy to move out, I talked to her excessively.
I bombarded her whenever she was out/home.
It took forever for her to move out, but she requested almost all the uchi PWPs before she left.
(If only I got the blanket or bus stop...)

Thank you everyone, I will try filling my pockets with flowers, and I think I'll also empty my wallet to see if that helps since they always want to sell me something.

I'll leave this open a little longer to see if anything new pops up.
