Hello all! After finishing my town Wonder, I took a long break from Animal Crossing. I've found myself with a bit more free time lately so I would love to get back into the game! However, because I finished my town, there is not much to do. I think I would like to start a new town, but I could never bring myself to delete Wonder. Getting a new game card would cost a bit of money and I'm not sure if it's worth it. Have any of you experienced this before? I'd love to hear your guys' thoughts/opinions/advice...

Thanks :D

Well, I just restarted my town.
I felt that I had done all I needed to do in Datlof, thought it was time for a change. I know how you feel, I only just got back into Animal Crossing. But if everything is done, it's worth a restart. Honestly, it all depends on how much you grew to love Wonder, how much you cared for your villagers and how it made you feel when you played it (yeah, I know it's just a game, it might not make you feel anything.)
But if you haven't gone on for a while, I advise you do restart before you begin to love your villagers again.

I think it'd definitely be worth it to buy another game but that's just me. Think of all the storage space!!
Idk i just had a lot of fun filling the museum and everything, i'd do it all over.

If your signature is your town line up, that would be hard to give up! I've reset like 10 times, but I never had all my dreamies. You could always check the boards for people willing to hold your villagers and favorite items. Then you could have the best of both worlds (resetting but also keeping some percious things). :)

To me, $30 for a new game cartridge was worth it for the hours and hours and hours of enjoyment. Think of it this way, if you bought a different video game to play now that you were done, you would spend the same amount of money! Of course I get that not everyone has $30 lying around, but sometimes you can find cheap cartridges on ebay or craigstlist :)

If you're really really reluctant to delete Wonder, and you've become attached to it somewhat over time I wouldn't delete it. Although you may feel like there's nothing else to do in Wonder i'm sure you'd still rather have wonder then delete it and regret it, especially if you put a lot of effort into Wonder. I know it's always good to have a blank canvas and all and by restarting the game feels more fresh but you don't always have to play the game constantly. If you play animal crossing constantly it can get stale, hence why you may feel like there's nothing to do. I suggest if you take your time and play the game periodically whenever you can and just enjoy what you built up. Besides, there is a lot of events occurring at the moment so i'm sure there's going to be something for you to do in Wonder. If not, i'd suggest working on your friendship with your villagers or moving some villagers out to make the game feel more fresh, you never know who you might like. :)

You've probably done this already but have you gotten all your badges? Completed the entire museum? Completed your catalogue? Other than little things like that, the only thing I can tell is live day by day, talking to your villagers.

Yes, agreed, the thing to do is set new goals. Maybe a new garden or a new PWP, something like that. Like real towns and cities, there's always remodels and new projects to complete. Just view it as never completed.

this happens to me every time i get back playing acnl.

if it was me, i'd delete the town and have someone close to you hold your prized possessions for you.

on the other hand, other posters are right about how $30 for another copy of the game is worth it.
