Aha, hey.
I used to be a super-duper active member of the community, but not anymore xD
I wanna get back into AC:NL 'cause I used to really love it.
Any tips on how? ;P

Hmm...what kind of stuff interests you?

I find it's also an easy game to get into if you have some kind of void in your life or treat your villagers like actual friends/role play.

When I was younger I used to have a bunch of Lego and different figures and I'd role play all their lives lol. It was fun and kept me invested and creative. Even at 23 I'd probably still do it if the stuff I had wasn't sold. AC fills that void!

Do you have any dream villagers in your town? Even if you do you could maybe swap some out to try other villagers. One part of the game I love is searching for and obtaining villagers, trying out new villagers and getting to know them. Maybe set yourself some goal, redecorate your house, complete your museum, collect badges, fill up your catalogue, etc.
Did you have all pwps unlocked? That could be another goal you could work towards. You can landscape your town, maybe but hybrids and things off here to help start you off or just to make it easier.

I don't really know what interests me, music food and anime maybe? And yea, AC used to fill that void for me.

My town is full of my old dream villagers, but my dream villagers may have changed, it has been a few months. I never did get all the PWPs unlocked, I never had enough time to do all of that. I always wanted to landscape my town, but it always got so boring.

Landscaping, unlocking PWPs, also with all the events coming up in the fall and winter months there will be tons of stuff to do in your town.

I'm just getting back into playing the game again as well just to relax at night and all the new seasonal bugs and fish have been fun to catch and add to my museum.

Run around your town and look for improvements to be made, and maybe clean it up if you haven't played in a long time. If you got bored and left your town, because maybe it was complete, buy another cartridge for cheap! I can't really say I've had two towns at once, but some people have as many as four! They probably like to have multiples so they can do as many different things as they want.

I say the best way to get back into things, is just do it. Even if you don't feel like picking the game up, try to play a few minutes a day or maybe even an hour and try to ease yourself back into it. For me personally, if I came back to a town only to see it incomplete I think i'd be pretty discouraged and have a lack of motivation however if you limit yourself to a few hours a day or minutes - you'll probably find yourself coming back to the game more and more. It also helps not to time travel and just take it a day at a time, if you did so previously as it can make you feel like you've already done everything there is possible to do in game. I always find excitement in logging in the next day in game. :)

You could get back into your old routine, or just spend time casually doing whatever you feel like doing. You could also no-life it like I did to complete a crazy goal (mine was getting enough treasure chests to complete my treasure dungeon basement).

Personally, what gets me into ACNL is when I have a lot of stress in my life and I want to avoid it. It also helps a lot if I have a lot of goals I want to finish like my dream villagers and landscaping since my town is so ugly. I tend to time travel a lot so my acnl binge playing never lasts for too long lol~

I used to always want another cartridge but could never afford it :c

That is honestly quite a good idea, I've got the next 3 days off, so I'll play some after this episode of Mirai Nikki :P

I will probably no-life it once I start to get more into it again, otherwise it just gets too boring if I don't love it enough xD

Yea, ACNL does help escape stress. I've wanted to landscape for so long but I always found it too boring
maybe you can look at some dream towns to inspire
there are some good dream diaries in this playlist

I'll check those out, thanks!

You could make a daily to-do list for yourself, that's what I do. It gives you something to do for the day, whether it be not that many chores or loads of them.

I concur with swapping out some villagers. New neighbors can really change your town.

I think I should swap out my neighbors, but I really like my current ones :/
