Getting a specific piece of furniture out of a villager's house

I'm going to put this to the Hive Mind? for help. I've been playing AC since the GameCube days, but I'm coming up blank on how to best fix this (as in, without going completely nuts).

Beardo somehow acquired a lovely side table and put the kiddie lunch on it. I've no idea where/how this happened, but it looks awful in his house. Since there's something on it, I can't just buy the table from him when I visit. It's the only thing I need changed. I know I've fixed things like this before, but it's been a while and Google is proving to be unhelpful.

If I have to, I guess I'll wait until he pings me to say he's looking to replace it, but I'd like to fix it before then. Thanks for any assistance!

I also have a Beardo and he has some nice stuff in his house so maybe try sending him small furniture from the classic,gorgeous,rococo or exotic series.I know that the classic and exotic series have small tables similar in size to the lovely side table so he might be more inclined to swap out that lovely table for one of those.

I know, his house is nice, and I've been able to keep him pretty much original (I even got him back into his detective outfit). I sent the clock to him yesterday, hoping he might, but he got rid of the coat tree, instead.
