I'm getting the dreaded error 018-0512. :(

This was a couple months ago, and I don't know if it's still the same or if system updates have done anything about it. The last time I went online was at a friend's house, so it wasn't my on my wifi.

Anyone here willing to try visiting me or let me visit you? I want to see if my connection still doesn't work.

Thanks. :)

Also, I'm new-ish to this ACNL online, so if I don't know how everything works, please be patient with me, lol.

try saving and quitting. come back and see if you still have the error.
turn off your ds and turn on ac again if that doesnt work?? aaah idk
also did you try out all the solutions for the error code?

Okay, will try visiting you instead.

I'm assuming it's not working. :/

Thank you for trying, anyway.

This happened a few months ago, and it's doing the same thing now, so it's not a temporary thing. It's so frustrating. I tried following these instructions and putting it in the DMZ, and my wifi became seriously messed up. I won't touch my wifi settings now because of that fiasco. :(

I'm going to try manually assigning an IP address, though I think that if I didn't try that in the first place then there must've been a reason as to why..

I have tried 4 times now and keep getting error 018-0511.

Turn your wifi or router off completely and then restart it.
Save and turn your game off (3DS) completely and then restart.

This worked for friend of mine. I will wait for you to do this and we shall try again.

The thing is, last time I shut off my router and restarted it, I remember having problems with the setup. I'm a bit worried about messing with the thing again.

I also already had to reset it after I changed the security settings last time, which was when I was trying to overcome this same error.

Can I get back to you tomorrow (or whatever time you're on) about this? I'm going to ask a family member about dealing with our router. I've had too many problems with it in the past, and the last thing I want to do is mess it up again. -_-

That is fine. I hope you manage to sort it out. Just PM me when ready :)
