I need to get the stained glass off Savannah's wall. Before I can ask for it though, I'd also have to move the bed I want her to keep. Does anybody have experience getting villagers to get things off the wall? The best I can think of is to send her other items for her wall, but I don't want those above her bed either:mad: Anybody worked on this before? Any chance she'll take down the stained glass but put the new wall items up elsewhere where I can get to them more easily? Do villagers have a max on wall items by any chance?

I think I might be making a bigger mess by sending items, but I'm afraid if I start by moving her bed she'll replace it with something like the backyard pool before I can get in there to swipe the stained glass:)

Hmm there's no harm in trying the bed first I think? Just don't sell/give her anything that takes up four spaces and walk around until she invites you over again tbh! But if you don't want anything there on her wall at ALL I think long-term you'd have a hard time with that... You could try sending her stuff you wouldn't mind above her bed? (Air conditioner I think always looks p nondescript, or maybe pits and pans if she has a kitchen? Idk what her house looks like I'd have to check the wiki)

I don't know if they have a maximum on wall items but if they do, it might be more than one. I think I've seen villagers with multiple wall objects in dream towns.

If you don't mind replacing the window with something else, you can use the method I use to replace only specific items in a villager's house. It involves resetting, though, since the trick is to wait until mail is delivered before checking their houses and resetting if you dislike the placement.

Save your game shortly before a mail round (I use the 5 PM one, so I save around 4:50 or a few minutes later). Send her the letter with the replacement item and wait. A few minutes after the hour, go into her house and see if she's displaying the item and where. If you don't like the new placement, quit without saving and keep doing this (or just stop, and she won't display it anywhere because you saved before sending her mail). If you like it, just save your game and go on as usual. :) It's pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

Other than that, you just need to wait to get her bed and then to buy the stained glass window from her. :(

I should also add that if you're afraid that she'll place another piece of furniture in front of the window, you can just swap all the items in Re-Tail for fruit or shells priced at 999,999 and not give her any furniture. If you don't usually like to do that, you can always stop once you get the window. :) If anyone asks you deliver a gift to her, don't do it. If you still want to deliver it to her, you can always save your game, check what's inside the box, and reset if it's something you don't mind delivering.

Thanks, but I just want nothing there. And I want it gone in an easy way that doesn't exist, lol! I have blocked ReTail, but they come up with new things every once in a while. I think they have really deep pockets.

I know, I think this is what I will have to do. Her house is modern, and the colors are just bad for the stained glass. If you do get a chance to see her house, feel fee to suggest an alternative. For now I'll just try to get an invite and swipe her bed. If I keep after her with all four characters maybe it won't take so long and I can get the bed out and back in before she can replace it!

What don't you like the stained glass window?

I do like it, but not there. The colors in the stained glass and the black and white of the modern series that Savannah has just don't do anything for me. I never really used stained glass much myself (which I'm sure is how Savannah ended up with it). But I did just see it used in Kasuralixa's forest/jungle room and really loved the customized colors there. Perhaps I should ask for recommendations of what goes well on the wall above a bed and looks great with the modern series?

Weird! I've had fruits at 999,999 in my Re-Tail for months and nobody's bought anything. Did you price them lower than that and did you use only worthless items (like fruit)? I think that if you use furniture they might still buy it.

I guess you'll just have to be patient, then! Hopefully it won't take long until she invites you for a visit, so good luck! :)

Oh! I didn't mean deep pockets as in rich and buying things, though I see now that's how it reads. No, I mean that they hold onto items for a long time and seem to have a long list of items in some deep pocket somewhere. Items that disappeared from their homes weeks and weeks ago suddenly reappear as a gift to you or a gift to another villager. I'd like to know more about how that works....

I say just buy the bed and then wait for her to invite you back to buy the window. Then once the widow's out, just send her the bed again and there's a very high chance she'll just put it back. If she doesn't, reorder the bed and send it to her until she puts it back. It might take a little while waiting for her to invite you to her house, but this is the best way to do it. c:

You could also open spots in Re-Tail and see if she takes it out on her own. This is risky though since she could move any item out. Or other villagers could. :/

Good luck!

Villagers will only buy items from Re-Tail if you're in there and they ping on the item. Then you have to go talk to them and let them buy it.
So you don't need to price the items at 999,999 - they can be any price you want. I make mine as cheap as possible (usually furniture) but still no one ever buys anything because I don't let them. I just decorate my Re-Tail with furniture I think is nice, haha
Luckily the villagers don't buy on their own. They're too indecisive ^~^

I had this problem with Lucky before when I adopted him and he had this blue astro clock on his wall that definitely didn't go well with his house. What I did was that I just waited until he invited me over to his place and I bought it off of him. But if there's more furniture blocking your way to the stained glass I guess you can buy the ones blocking you then buy the stained glass another time then just resend the ones you bought from her earlier. (?)

Oh, gosh. I hate it when they hang ugly things on their walls. Agnes currently has a fancy frame BLOCKING HALF HER WINDOW. It looks so bad. DX Good luck getting rid of Savannah's stained glass.

I thought that I was just imagining things because I'm 99% sure this has happened to me before! Sometimes they'll come up with bugs I didn't give them or they'll trade clothing with each other without my help. Just recently, one of my villagers who was wearing one of my custom designs randomly switched to a shirt that I didn't give her or deliver to her, and which she didn't own before. I have no idea what went on there but some shirts even seem to be contagious. I wonder if it's possible for villagers to give each other stuff or if they have some sort of inventory of their own where items they received a long time ago can be stored. I've been regifted things that my side characters sent them in the mail and that they didn't display in their house.

Either way, I wouldn't worry about it because it doesn't seem to be very common, so there's a high chance that she won't replace the bed with something random after you buy it from her. :)

I didn't know about this, thank you for the tip! Does your friendship suffer if you tell them no? I've always heard about the overpriced fruit trick, so had no idea they didn't buy things on their own. I think they can still put random things for sale there, which can wreck their houses if it's an item you need to buy and send them again.

honestly, I just put in overpriced flowers in case I have a large order set up with someone

so I can be lazy and not have to price switch as much
