I finally got Genji in my second town and he decided to move right in front of my town hall -_-
I feel like crying because I loved him so much and he's done this to me...
It'll take a long time to get him back, should I just cycle him out and get another jock?
I literally am so conflicted.

this is pretty much the story with 50% of my villagers. I never did plot resetting and they always move into the worst spots in town. I have gotten rid of a few villagers just because I was so annoyed at where they placed their house. but it's a hard choice when it's a villager you really love. I have 4 characters set up & I'm going to delete one just so I can start plot resetting, I'm not going to go crazy with it, I just don't like them moving right in front of buildings

That's exactly what happened to me too when Genji moved to my town, he just decided to plot right in front of my town hall!!
In the end I decided to let him move because his house is in such a terrible place!!
I never plot reset too, I find it too tedious!
So guess what, Tangy just move in today, and she decided to move RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE! lol
But she is my FAVORITE, so I'll let this one slide, just because it's Tangy! :D:D

Argh, I wouldn't reset or risk losing him to be honest, I care more about obtaining my dream villagers than my town placements though so it's just me.
When I chose my spot I put my house right in between a pond and the cliff with some room either side to have a hybrid garden and pretty much right as mead to the tracks at the back as I could go. Then once I'd unlocked a PWP I wanted (in this case a stone tablet) I placed that as near in front of my house as I could.
So I'm not in fear of anybody actually ruining the area around my house as it is.
If you do decide to reset I would suggest trying something similar to what I just said about my house. It really helps :-)

Posted too soon - I know you wouldn't be able to change your house placement, but maybe you could place streetlights near by and that sort of thing.
Best of luck!

I just deal with it and work around them. But yes, I feel your pain. It is difficult to have plans and see them ruined. Whenever I make a new town, I immediately plot lamposts on either side of my town hall and my house to keep peeps from plotting in front of them.

When I was first building my town I put a few PWPs in front of buildings or in places I didn't want villagers to move. I had street lights in front of town hall, the fountain in front of my house, the fire hydrant in front of a bridge, the illuminated tree close to another bridge. Now I plot reset but never more than 3-4 times, I'm not OCD about it but there are spots where I just don't want villagers to move to.

A villager placing their houses beside and in front of the Town Hall is the worst. If I haven't plot resetted, I bet Victoria would've placed her house beside my Town Hall just like what Stitches and Nana did to me before.
Plot resetting works, but it takes so much time. Same goes with cycling. If you're looking for an alternative for Genji, I suggest Snake? He's also a jock rabbit with a Japanese theme. Snake's got a funny face in contrast of Genji's grumpy face.

But come to think of it this way if you don't want to let go of Genji: He placed his house in front of the Town Hall because he wanted to be a mayor too. Like, I think Genji wants to be a politician? Thank goodness I don't have this problem with Genji, his house spot is so comfy and all it needs is to get rid of Ankha and Bam's houses.

This is why I plot reset whenever I get a new villager in, even if it's just minor resetting (just to make sure they aren't in the way of something or crush something important). Is it possible to move Genji into your first town, or have someone hold him? If it's mega special to you, it'd be worth cycling if his house placement is just too difficult to deal with.
