People make way too big of a deal about gender when it comes to games.
I play as both near equally for the sole reason of experiencing the game to it's fullest.
On every AC i've played, i've had both male and female characters.
Although in the past i've always chosen a male as my main simply because I myself am male.
But in New Leaf, I decided to go with a female as my main character!
Not really any specific reason. I just wanted to try something different! Also all the new designs for the female helped sharpen my resolve on which gender to play as well!
Again, people just take gender on games too seriously.
As long as you're not some 40 year old creep posing as the opposite gender trying to live out your "fantasies" (lol), I see no harm in playing as both! Haha
Just my two cents.
