I currently have 9 and Moose is moving out tomorrow. Do I have to wait until Sunday or how does this work? So sorry I'm pretty new to this haha.

Well you can adopt her whenever you're ready since you only have 9 villagers, you can have a max of 10. They will be in boxes on the date they say they are going to move, that's when someone from another town can come and convince them to move to their town! If you time travel then you can just travel to the date that they are in boxes.
