Garden issue!

I have a really weird pattern in my town where I plant a tree and skip two spaces and plant another tee. I've always hated how close together all the "natural" trees looked so I settled for this pattern and I'm really happy with it. You can still run between trees and it makes a nice box formation when adding rows of trees.

I have a lot of trees in my town and they have all been planted really easily. So, now I'm stumped (haha) because I chopped down a tree and another tree can not grow in its place.


I've been trying for at least a week now. I bury either a sapling from Leif or a perfect cherry from my town and NOTHING! It has happens a few times in other locations but I'm dumbstruck now.

Does anyone know why this happens? How can I fix it faster without wasting saplings? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've never handled anything like this, but I'd try removing the paths below and above the space you already moved to see if that helps at all. There might be some space issue there. Overall though, I'm not entirely sure what to do. ^.^' You're in an odd situation.

Although I don't know the exact answer to your issue I know of a couple common solutions that arise from this problem.

1) You can only plant a certain amount of trees in a given area

2) If an your trying to plant a tree in is boxed in by other trees then it can't grow. For example if you have a 3x3 grid where you plant a tree every 3 tiles then the one in the middle will always die if you plant it last.

3) It's too close to a pwp, cliff, river, plaza, etc but that doesn't seem to be the case in your situation

I have the same problem, just with bamboo around the plaza.. I can get bamboo to grow all around the plaza except in one spot. It can grow right next to it, but not on the spot
