Here's a sister thread for the 'Games that aged poorly' topic.
I played through the 2001 game Stronghold recently and found it was still quite good. IMO it was a combination using isometric 2D graphics and core mechanics (namely a solid economy and building system) that worked very well. The only thing that felt really dated were the unit controls, but there's been a lot of innovation in RTS games since then. The nostalgia was nice but it certainly held its own.
What are some games that you feel have aged well over the years?
