Well how great is my birthday!

My game has been currupted, and i only left it for 5 mins, any ideas?

No, and now whenever i try to access it it comes up with "an error has occurred causing the software to close " the system will now restart.

Did you happen to try and invite 2 of the same villager in your town?

Really sorry to hear that :(, as it's new it might be a fault with the cartridge. Its rare but it can happen.

The game its self is like 2 months old, i got it a while ago and have used it, but i stopped, now ive started again and it was fine this morning but then it just went :(

When you say it's corrupted, do you mean the save file is corrupted, or the entire cartridge is corrupted? I don't really know much about corruption because it's never happened to me (despite all the abuse I give my electronics) so sorry if this is a stupid question.

The save file, i can get onto the game , but when i press new save file it reffers me back to home screen and says : an error has occurred causing the software to close " the system will now restart.

Try moistening a paper towel with a tiny...TINY... bit of windex and wipe the connectors in an away motion from the cartridge base. Allow to dry completely. While that is drying take a short bristle paint brush and clean inside the housing on the DS. Gently... ever so gently. Blow into the housing to ensure no dust is left behind. Try your game again. Good luck.

It's not exactly corrupted if you can still play it. It's more like faulty since you can't access that one part of it. Try turning off your system, and taking your game out. Blow into the 3DS cartridge slot and if you happen to have a microfiber cloth, take a q tip and wrap the cloth around the tip and clean the slot.

oh my god this literally happened to me a few months ago! i wasn't able to fix it and couldn't be bothered to ship it to nintendo (they wanted me to call them and i'm really afraid of talking on phones) so i just went and bought a digital copy. i understand your pain! )-:

That's the same with me. They said Take back to retailer or mail to them and they try fix it. (Sorry for grammar,I've been in Germany for 7 years so I've kinda lost my grammer

This kind of stuff makes me so paranoid. I've never taken my game out of the console since I bought it (New Leaf's the only game I have, so that's understandable).

I'm sorry for your loss...
