I've been designing clothes since Animal Crossing GC and selling pattern commissions since Wild World, and I think it's neat how the trend has changed from cute sprite art and pictures to more realistic clothing patterns (differentiated from pictures, hats, etc). I've been doing some designs inspired by real-life clothes (especially fancy dresses); how much of this have you guys done? Are there some cool real-life clothes I can try designing in-game/some databases I can look through?

First thread c:

I wish I had the skill to be able to make my own custom designs in Animal Crossing. Unfortunately, I have tried and it has never turned out well. For inspiration, maybe you could go to Pinterest or maybe even some of your own favorite clothing websites and get some ideas from there? Good luck! And congrats on your first thread. :D

I made some colored garbs for my new town. They kind of have a dirty look to them. Some of the villagers are even wearing them and they look nice. I don't have any pictures of them at the moment.

I've made some dresses based on RL dresses recently. It's a lot of fun but can get frustrating very quickly, lol.

I'm so, so bad at patterns. But I have dresses and things in the game that I wish I could wear IRL.

I have made a few dresses and outfits based on RL clothes, I love designing them in New Leaf :). I've also made a few Cosplay outfits for my mayor and for other people's mayors.

I've been making custom clothes too, it's a lot of fun. Maybe I'll start sharing the QR codes eventually. I tend to make mine based on stuff I own or which I see in shops and like. I tend to get inspiration from online clothes shops, I'll find some that sells clothes that I might like or find interesting to try to replicate in the game and if something catches my eye, I'll try to make a pattern out of it.
