Post facts about acnl. It can be something widely known or something very few people know about.

My fact is: You can't save and continue during a villager's birthday party; you can only save and quit (unless you leave their house, that is).

If you streetpass with a lot of people, Re-tail will have more items on premium. I only found that out recently since I don't get a lot of streetpasses.

Ive known that for a while...because my villgers wont hush about it

fun fact: Campsites either never wanna be filled, or won't give you a personality type that you need, so PixelsV2 is just stuck without an uchi >:I

EDIT: Turns out, I had a camper today and it's Canberra, an Uchi.

Not specific to ACNL but.... Gyroids are clay figures called Haniwa in Japanese which are used for ritual use and buried with the dead! This explains why you can only obtain them after it rains 0.o I don't know if this is an old Japanese custom but it's interesting and creepy that Nintendo chose to put this into AC which is a game that is open to and uses international cultures through items and not specifically Japanese culture!

And think about Coco. Isn't she based off a Gyroid?? Is she, like, a dead spirit or something walking around???

It's scary to think about it like that.

According to the Wiki, her New Leaf house could be based on a crematorium.

"Her home in the later main franchise installments is furnished to resemble an ancient crematorium, featuring bonfire pillars for cremating bodies, urns to store the ashes, the haniwa which were made with the ashes, and screens which those mourning the dead would pray behind. The song that plays in her house is the eerie K.K. Dirge--a "dirge" being a type of traditional western funeral march song." http://animalcrossing.wikia.com/wiki/Coco

I suppose she is a walking gyroid 0.o *grabs shovel* I shall bury her back into the ground! She lives in Serenade~ While looking up info about her just now, I read that the Haniwa rituals occured in a past Japanese era, which is where Coco's Japanese name is derived from. So she is in fact not a walking Coconut!

And have you ever listened to the music she plays in her house? K.K. Dirge?

Dirge is "a lament for the dead, especially one forming part of a funeral rite."

Yeah. Coco's a walking spirit, lmao.

(edit: this was covered in the last post on the first page and I didn't see it, lol)

"Confirmed 2k18!" I should listen to K.K. Dirge, maybe add it to my already creepy gyroid town xD

I had it at the Emporium the other day. It's not the type of music you want to listen to at 2am when all of the lights are out... lmao.

I love Coco and have her in my town, but that's a really interesting thing about her house decor I never knew!

I believe Clay is based off of a similar funerary statue if I'm not mistaken, called Dogū

I missed your post, sorry!

I knew her house was based off of something -- I just couldn't remember what, and when I tried to research it, nothing popped up.

Yep! Clay is based off Dogu! I think I remember seeing an artifact of the first picture in your link at a museum I visited my junior year of high school. Pretty neat~

https://www.vgfacts.com/game/supermario3dland/I was looking at this site and it had an interesting fact about Super mario 3d land that involves acnl
"Two alternate HOME screen jingles can be found in the game's files. The first is a shortened version of the one used in the final game, and the second is the first 6 notes of the Super Mario Bros. theme. The latter was reused in Animal Crossing: New Leaf for when the player puts on Mario-related clothing."
This is quoted directly from the site and is refering to SM3DL
Heres the link

Blathers has a really big fear of bugs yet works in a museum that exhibits live bugs. That’s like sticking a guy who’s afraid of water on lifeguard duty XD
