Fruitless trees on the island

On Tortimer's island, there's a couple of trees with no fruit - is there a point in these, like are there any bugs exclusive to the island that can only be caught on fruitless trees? I want to chop them down, but not if i need them.. And is there any way to replace them? Thanks!

Oh, and can rare mushrooms grow on the island? I got a pattern on one of the trees i cut down..

Mmm, no, not really lol. They're just trees without fruit. And I believe they sell saplings in the store on the island...so you could always replant trees, although it takes medals and not bells...which I believe isn't worth it >_> But to each their own.

I don't recall ever seing saplings for sale on the island - only red/yellow hibiscus bushes.

My bad, that's probably what I confused it with @_@ I never go on the island anymore so I don't remember xD

But you can always replant fruit (durian/lemon/lychee/mango) and it'll just grow back
