Hi guys, so I have the digital copy of ACNL and i have been playing it a lot lately. So i had just cleaned up my town and gotten the perfect town status (woo!) and also finished a PWP when my game freezes with the music playing in the background of it... I mean, I haven't been playing for hours or anything, but it's still really annoying that I have to redo all of this stuff. Uagh.

Has your game ever frozen on you? Was it more than once? Also, is there any way to transfer my data from a digital version to a cartridge if i had bought 2 copies of the game?

Is your memory card full? I don't know if that would make any difference, but maybe if the memory card is full, that could be slowing down your game.

Is this happening with other games you own? If so, that's probably a problem with your 3DS and not your game.

There isn't a way to transfer your data from the digital version to the cartridge that I know of, sadly, at least according to other posts I've read here.

If this is happening a lot, you could always contact Nintendo's costumer support and ask them about this.

Never, but I remember one member had this problem in the past though. It scared her out so much.
Not sure if I an find it.

No its impossble to transfer a digital copy to a physical copy.

Never happened to me, but I have used a cartridge/a physical copy to play the game, and not digital. Don't know what to say really to be honest.

My game has only frozen at the save screen. It seems to happen several times over a couple days and then the problem disappears for weeks. I read that I should just leave it saving. Most of the time it would eventually finish - sometimes up to 30 minutes later it would complete the save. So I don't know, but if you left the frozen game alone for a while, perhaps it would finish whatever it is doing and come back for you.

My game has never frozen on me, though when i change the date or time for the 3ds and then go back to the start screen the digital copies of the games I have have disapeared and take a few seconds to come back, every time

This has happened to me somewhere between 5-10 times so far. I only have a digital copy of the game. It sucks but I've gotten used to saving as much as possible as to not lose anything.

Hm, I'm not sure if my memory card is full, but i know that i have little free space on my 3ds. This actually hasn't happened on any other games. I did just get done playing for an hour or 2 with no problem, and i read that this is sometimes just a one time thing, but I will be using that 'save and continue' button quite a bit in the future.

I wasn't aware that Nintendo's CS could help with things like this, thanks for the suggestion, i will keep that in mind. :+)

thats normal. its just the icons taking a couple seconds to load.

I have 2 digital copies on 2 different 3DSes! The newer 3DS has never had any issues, but the older one freezes incessantly. I had to stop playing on it, cause I knew whatever I did would be deleted

Darn, i figured it wouldn't be possible! Thanks for saving me the effort of trying to find the answer online.

One time, my game froze when I caught a string fish ._.

I think that has to do with Nintendo's server for some reason. I've read you can flip your wifi switch during that and it'll save right away. Maybe that's a corruption risk, but I tried it when I had a lengthy save and it did work.

My game froze once when I was fishing and it's the physical copy D:
How long ago did it happened to you?

From what I read online the crashing doesn't seem to lean very hard on either version of the game (although there are various other problems that are primarily found in the eShop version). Hopefully its just a one time thing, but I will be saving much more often now, that's for sure haha!

I did try that the first time or two it happened, but without luck. Happy to blame Nintendo:)

The only threads I have found so far similar to the glitch, is when the player suddenly freezes thinking (for example checking there inventory) for no reason, with there head slightly turned to the right, not in a normal position (However it might of been a bug coming close or a villager). This resulted in everything freezing but the music. All members that got this glitch were very freaked out by it.

I'll keep looking for that thread, I know its somewhere....

- - - Post Merge - - -

I can not remember the thread very well but the member left there 3DS alone for a bit and when she came back it was completely frozen with the music still playing. She couldn't do anything about it, nor could she turn off her 3DS. So she left it to drain. That is all I remember sorry.

But I don't think that is the glitch you got. Can you explain it better please?

That is the same that happened to me, sorta. I had left my 3ds alone for a little bit to roughhouse with my dog and search this site when the game just froze. The music was still playing, but I can't remember the position my character was in. I was able to turn off my 3ds, but it took a bit longer than it usually did for it to power off (i tried to press the home button and to go into streetpass mode, but neither of those worked)

Thanks for all this information! It's reassuring to know that I'm not alone here. I will be looking to find anyone with a similar issue online! Thanks again. :+)
